The Big Misconception About Electricity VIDEO BY VERITASIUM PLAYS LOOSE WITH FALSE EQUIVALENCIES AND DEFINITELY HAS THE WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG ANSWER.

While I get that he means the time to be EXTREMELY short, the answer of 1/c seconds is meaningless. It is NOT a TIME per se because it includes a variable. I get what he means, just not the equation... nor answer. Yes it can be a time if c is a constant... which is isn't. Einstein's E=mc2 has a similar issue... that c is NOT a constant. So, other than assuming c is a constant, there is no definite answer and is some kind of unsolvable ratio. It has no meaning. He must mean the 1 to be the one metre distance. I get that he means it to be a short time... and, I guess the 1 is the one metre (in the answer). No allowance for any other distance, it seems. Still, the capacitance thing still follows the speed of light before it could be achieved and it won't at one metre. Even if a regular cable was stretched and the ends ties to make a closed circuit, it would take the speed of light for the loop to become fully charged... AFTER the switch was closed.

If capacitance of any serious level occurred at one metre, then household wiring would experience huge issues... lights coming on when they shouldn't etc.

There is an axiom in science that things that are equal to the same thing must be equal to each other. Veritasium has stretched the limits and created false equivalencies in his video and his answer is wrong.
