Apparently Huntsman are one of the few spiders where the mother stays around to look after the young.

I have a funny huntsman spider story. My severely arachnophobic boyfriend and I were homeless and "gone camping" for a while. One day, he has the front tent flap rolled up as hes taking food out of it for lunch. He notices the huntsman spider who was just chilling on the outside of our tent on the right side. Right before he noticed, he stuck a bag of chips to where the tent flap was holding it. He freaks out and tells me to kill it. I tell him "HELL NO, those things will get rid of a bunch of things we don't want around the tent. We forgot about the bag of chips and ate our sandwiches. Hes still freaking out despite the spider being gone by this point. When he went to crawl into the tent for some sodas, it dislodged the bag of chips in the tent flap causing them to fall. He screamed like a little girl, jumped out of the tent peeing his pants and yelling every cuss word he knew. Covered head to toe in goosebumps🤣🤣🤣 When the chip bag fell, his brain somehow thought it was the spider coming to get him. So I had to go fetch water to clean him up and wash his shorts after laughing till I cried. We laugh about it now, laying in bed in our apartment. My tough 6' 210lb Marine Veteran boyfriend who survived the Bosnian Conflict is a big baby when it comes to spiders. I've been trying to help him with that and so far, I've gotten him to fall in love with jumping spiders. Tarantulas though still make him cower behind me at the pet store, bless him❤

Ironically this species has one of the prettiest spiders we know of in it called a "Heteropoda lunula" otherwise known as the purple huntsman and good news they are harmless to humans and less likely to be aggressive unless you are provoking a female with an egg sack.

Awe, baby spiders!🥰 I used to have arachnophobia as a kid but i don't anymore and I absolutely LOVE spiders. They're amazing animals.
