2007 - 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 Liter - 'Dogbone' Engine Mount Replacement!

Welcome back everybody! In this video, we are going to show you how to replace the front torque strut mount for our 2007 Altima 2.5. This replacement basically involves removing two 18 mm bolts, but in order to get those bolts out, some other things will have to be moved out of the way. That includes the strut tower bracket above the back bolt, in order to pull the bolt out, that will have to be pried up out of the way. The other bolt requires you to move the power steering fluid reservoir out of the way to gain access to remove the other bolt. All in all, it can take about an hour to replace. Enjoy!

As of now how good is that engine mount aka "dog bone"? Is it worth buying? I just recently went to a dealership and they were going to charge 300 to replace it. I am probably going to do it myself, thanks to your video.

Thanks for the video bro went to the dealer and they wanted to charge me $518. I checked out your video and did it myself for $69 took me less than 30 minutes!

Torque specs for both of these bolts are 63 ft-lbs according to manufacturer's service manual. Stubby 18mm socket with long reach ratchet helps very much for this job. Can be done in under 25 minutes.

Any plans to make a video on replacing the lower/rear engine mount? I did it a couple years ago and the aftermarket part already needs to be replaced. It was a major pain so wondering if you could show a better way 😎

Any suggestions on what to do if the horizontal bolt does not line up with the hole in the block? After lots of trying I just put the old one back on so I can get to work tomorrow, and it lined up fine for that one.

I managed to strip the threads on the big engine bracket. Do you happen to know the thread size pitch for that big bolt?
