From 8 Days To 50: Boeing Starliner astronauts still stuck in space

NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore are now 50 days into a mission that was supposed to last only eight.

The two veteran test pilots were nearing the International Space Station when their Boeing Starliner spacecraft suffered multiple helium leaks and thruster malfunctions. While engineers are working around the clock testing repairs, NASA officials said Thursday they need more time.

They should utilize SpaceX asset to get those astronauts home, it's taking too long. Boeing can examine their assets on Earth but astronauts must be home now.

The beauty of having Dragon and Starliner is that Dragon can shine even more and also that everybody sees what can greed and misconduct do from a respectable company such as Boeing.

In the movie Armageddon the NASA official said NASA doesn't take any chances we have two of everything. Not this time. Surely somewhere on the planet some country has a rescue craft for situations like this.

Hard to find the news updates on all of this so here we are 8H ago, July 25 2024. Kind of covered up in MSM – no news elsewhere. Are these new grad engineers that were taught they never had to show up, never had to do term papers, new math, 2+2 = 5? CRT training above all else? Send SpaceX to go get them. Our wonderful space shuttles are now in museums along with the rest of the old engineers. New engineers just not cutting it.

Elon Musk should send a Dragon rescue ship, get the Starliner team... and return them to Earth. Would pretty much mean the end of Boeing as competition!
