A girl that grew up with my daughters is dying of cancer. She's in excruciating pain & I can't imagine anyone denying a loved one pain meds.

I can't believe someone would deny someone pain meds... They're dying. Let them have whatever they want...

When they deny a family member meds for pain all you can do is wish that you have them someday as a hospice patient with a lot of pain

I'm a Rn I don't play that.I call family and see which one has any sense I do a assessment in front of family..there's always a way To get that patient help

My dad was brought to the hospital a few days ago and declined quite rapidly. He had a DNR. Told the nurse to give him anything and everything that they could to make him comfortable and that is how he passed. I am so grateful that as I grieve I won't have an image of him suffering at the end. He died peacefully and comfortably.

As someone who has had many surgeries and health issues. I say to my Son all the time do not let me go out of this world withering in pain. The family needs to abide the patient's wishes.

I would rather be high as a kite than in pain as I'm dying.

The hospice workers who cared for my uncle were sooo kind and i learned a lot about palliative care in that time.

It's sad that you even have to talk to them about it! People are so ignorant about some things! The last thing you should be worried about is your time with them or if the pain meds are going to hurt them. They're dying let them have whatever they want booze, drugs dudes chicks whatever food etc.... let the diabetic have all the sweets etc... 😮 God bless us all and may we all have a good support person fighting for us in the end 🙏🫶🙏

I tend to be sarcastic nice ... Because sometimes the family of a dying patient can be quite obstinate, the worst is when they say we're making their beloved an addict... 😅

Who on earth would deny a dying person pain meds. That's awful 🥺

My mom was diagnosed and died very young from an aggressive breast cancer that caused tumors everywhere in her body, the brain being last. She kept a very detailed journal that stopped 4 months prior to her death. Her cancer never went into remission. She had numerous surgeries, including a partial MASTECTOMY, one lung collapsed. It was a domino effect. I turned 9 in April, and she died one month later. She was only 34 years old.

Never! Deny any comfort item. Never. Including comfort meds. Never! 😉

Shame on the families who refuse their loved ones the pain medicine that will make them feel a little bit better... Unless you have experienced Excruciating Pain, you have No Idea what they are going through... Have some common decency people and some compassion for those that are in pain and SUFFERING 😢😢😢

Thank goodness I was taking care of mom on hospice because when little sister came she was worried about mom not eating and wanting an iv and me stop giving her morphine. It was ridiculous. I told her no way was I going to let mom in pain
