That Fluid Film is doing an excellent job and the snow/salt of the Chicago roads has been extreme. = Doing much better than I expected.

My 5.4 3v runs much quieter with 5w30, cap says to use 5w20.

I know a lot of small fleet operators that switched all their vehicles over to 5w40 oil.

I think I heard you mention possibly using a 5w-40 oil? I have a 2017 F-250 that has the 6.2 gas engine. I have been using 5w-40 Rotella T6, Valvoline Eruo 5w-40 and Pennzoil Euro 5w-40. Seem like the engine is the quietist with Rotella T6 or the Valvoline. The engine/truck has 152K miles. Runs great. NO issues. I value your opinion on this Rich. You think this is helpful to use 5w-40 or does really make any difference? I had a 2018 F-150 with the 5.0 coyote and had rocker arm/cam follower bearing failure. Lost a couple rocker arms around 100K....and I maintained the 5.0 very meticulously. The F-250 6.2 has a different rocker arm set up but I hoping/thinking the 5w-40 being a little thicker will help out these overhead cam engines. I also carry some doubt that the 5w-40 is not getting through the VCT or VVT cam oil passages like a 5w-30 will. Would you think I am doing harm to my engine with the 5w-40 and should be using 5w-30 like OEM specs or is the 5w-40 better.
Also thanks for the flood mode recommendation. I have been doing this with my Ford trucks every since I watched you do this a few years back. I live in TN so we have about 3-4 weeks of really cold weather. I do know whether summer or winter the 5w-30 make for a much louder engine with my 6.2 and with my former truck with the 5.0. Thanks for the faithful videos and thanks for your comments on the immigration issues going on. The immigration border crossing is way beyond concerning. Our country is in big trouble.

I did the same thing with oil weight on my Ford V10 with 212, 000 miles. Changed from 5W20 to 5W30 four years ago and it made a difference in engine sound.

A TV shop owner (in the 80' s) I knew always had E-150 Ford vans with the 4.9L six cylinder motors. Ran a larger filter on them also. Got 350, 000 miles or more from them motors with all the abuse of stop and go traffic servicing TV's for customers when TV's was made to be fixable

Nice. I’m super curious about the Restore and Protect.

I like the chatter in your garage / shop. A shop symphony.

Pre priming your oil means, you have an external pump, pump the oil through your engine before starting it, not you key the engine, defeats the purpose of engine wear. Nevermind.

Grabbed the garage box of Valvoline high mileage full synthetic for both my trucks last oil change. Incredible deal for $4.83 per quart.

I started running the Valvoline blue 5w40 it says heavy duty diesel and gas engines on the label full synthetic in my 2017 f150 5.0 runs way quieter than it did with 20 or 30. And at hot idle oil pressure it’s 15-17 psi vs the 10-13 with the 5w20

Great video Rich! I'm glad you showed the underside of the truck after the Fluid Film has been on for awhile. Seems to be holding up and doing its job. I was under the impression that it would remain "slimy" and become a mess when working on the undercarriage. Looks like it dries up over time.

The dealer I use, switched my 2020 3.5 up to 5W-30 full synthetic after break in. Thanks for the flood mode tip.

watched the oil geek channel ( i think its the name) as he spoke with the valvoline engineer about how this oil cleans the oil rings after about 3 oil cycles.
4Rnr has 104k and will soon use oil and see how well it does.
Keep us posted!

2013 3.5 eco boost oil filter swap to an FL-820 a good idea as well?
