I noticed you were laying under your truck jacked up with no safety stands. This was like watching someone clean a loaded gun! This is the #1 killer of amateur home mechanics. Jack fails or slips, truck falls and smashes you. I only mention this so know body else climbs under a vehicle held up by only jacks with no safety stands. NEVER CLIMB UNDER A VEHICLE HELD UP ONLY BY JACKS! NEVER!

Great job, just got a 2022 F150 with 4wd and 5.0. I’ve changed my own oil in trucks and cars for over 50 years but it is great to have a reference for the first time. I’m glad you said 7 and 3/4 quarts several times. It helps an old man remember 😅

Don't know if this varies between build plants or date of production, but my 2021 F150 5.0 had a 15mm drain plug, not the 16mm as mentioned in the video.. Just my $0.02 for this video. Thanks for taking time to share the oil change with us.

Good I always take the filter off first so if I drop it it lands in an empty catch pan with less mess!

The oil filter drain is in the front and rear (or at least it is on my 2019 f150 5.0) so that it shouldn’t hit the shield beneath the truck. Look above the shield next oil change and you should see a drain tube identical to the one you see up front. This is for reasons in your case when the truck is jacked up or at a down hill angle, it can drain out the rear also. There is a large plastic tray underneath the oil filter that drains the oil out the front or rear depending on the angle the truck is sitting while changing the oil.

Oil is 5. 30. Is it synthetic blend or all synthetic thanks

Was your drain plug somewhat resistant coming out and going in?

Safer to use jack stands so won't get crushed if jack fails

after replacing the oil tensioner or whatever the hell, at only 50k miles and havingg weird rattling noises from the engine under low rpm, I am officially done with f150 v8 trucks. I think im done with ford in general. Im just gonna stick with it but invest in a japanese car. I did my best to support murica but they just scam people with terrible products. Its a shame because they look so beautiful on the outside.

Just a piece of advice. You need to use a torque wrench when putting your drain plug back on to it’s called specification. You never just use your own judgement. And maybe I don’t see them but you shouldn’t post videos without having the proper safety in place. What happens if your jack fails. I’m not trying to bust your balls but you should really delete this and start over so nobody takes your advice and climb under truck without jack stands.

That’s the right side of the engine where the filler is, in the US. Maybe with metrics right and left are opposite?

What filter did you use? I’m about to order the oil and do the oil change on my 2021 f150 for the first time later this week. Thank you for the content.

Just an observation to be aware of. I had a oil filter o ring come off the filter and stick to the engine block. If you don’t notice it and put new filter on it will leak once engine pressure builds up.
