Super easy to follow and setup. Port forwarding was easy too. Just had to read the info the router gives you on setting up the service locally, what ports/port ranges, then add that to your local PC services under NAT settings and bam. You are online and hosting your game with friends without having to be logged into the game.

The game overwrote my serveradmin xml file when it created the world, erasing my steam ID from the file. In the servers xml file, web console is off, so i don't know how to shut down and restart this thing. I'm lost.

Edit: Figured it out. It was the little comments text on either side of the admin list.

Can some one help me. I follow all the steps but keep getting the same problem every time.
I click connect ( i write my password ) Game try to connect but nothing happens and then timeout.

I try with a RGW, give server a name and the game a name.
When i start the server i get some yellow text.



I get a full page of green text, but then this in yellow ->

A lot of new green text and then this in yellow ->

A lot of new green text and then 3 of this yellow lines ->

If I start game and find my server and try connect to it. I can see new green text in the server window

But I cant login, i only get timeout.

So this is where i am stuck.
I close server down, but i find no folder or wrold or game name in the server folders. What I just made the server creat ?
Why I look for this is to also understand where the server generate the world folder and saves.

My goal in the end was moving my multyplayer world and save to a server. But I cant even start a new world on the server yet :D ???

TFP really needs to make it so that I can run the Dedicated Server on a separate machine and play the client game on my gaming PC. Setup would be a lot simpler if they would just stick the same game interface for setting up servers as they use for the game client. My whole family plays this game and I don't want to run it on my gaming PC 24/7 just so they can log in when I'm not around.

can you edit the servers settings after you have started the server? Through editing the same file you did setting it up or will it restart the world.

I need to set up a server that isn't set on my computer because when the server runs off of my computer it lags out the game, so I need another host.
