personally I'd be more concerned about stab wounds vs slash wounds in 3A armor

Fun fact: in medivel times the main cause of death to an armored man wasen't from the slashes themselves but from broken bones and internal bleeding. The only thing that can get through plate armor with chainmail is a halberd but even that was used for its weight as a crushing weapon to shatter bone. The vest might keep you safe from slashes but its still gonna hurt like hell getting hit by that

Bullet proof vest are often not always stab or slash proof especially if it's only Kevlar buy that doesn't mean it can't be both either.

Reason is if it's to stop bullets the way they weave the Kevlar is more loose so it catches the bullet and better spread out energy so the bullet doesn't go through. If they weave it tighter it would be more stab proof but less bullet proof. Or it could have 2 different kind of layers.

If they had a ceramic or steel plate underneath that Kevlar vest you would have both stab and bullet proof-ness but usually those make it much heavier to carry.

Slash won’t work, but a stab would. But modern armour are just way too good against Blades’ titanium for example
