This is so helpful as a new scorpion owner! Would you consider doing a video on the molting process, like what to/not to do, when to worry etc? I can’t tell if he’s dead or still mid molt 🥴

Modify the top, you could cover it with some plastic. I used a piece of emergency blanket. I covered part of the open screen with it. Helps a ton. I have 2/3 of it covered humidity is at a solid 85.

The bad guy version of the emperor scorpion. The psycho emperor. Definitely much more aggressive with stronger Venom. The emperor unfortunately is expensive now because of greedy overharvesting field collected specimens is much more handleable.

Thinking of getting one of these, I have many tarantulas and I hope to add a scorpion to the collection someday.

Despite the lied you make where sir fluffs a lot ate the cricket (scorpion eats by pinching its prey first and eat it alive slowly so you should get the scene where sir fluffs eat the cricket which is not), i love the terrarium

I just bought one at petsmart. I love it. I wasn’t sure if he had eaten yet but i threw in 2 crickets and immediately went for it!
I’ve never free handled any kind of arachnid but with Anubis, i went straight in and he didn’t even try to pinch nor sting me. He’s so friendly lol
And yes, his name is Anubis 😂

Thanks for the info ! I am preparing a terrarium for one of these, I reserved a juvenile Heterometrus laoticus, but I don’t know yet the size since the seller don’t have them yet because of cold weather. I have 2 enclosures, 60x30x30 and 50x30x38 and I probably will use the smaller one since I will need the other for other project, I hope is good enough, I will use when needed a zoomed heatmat 16w 20 cm x 30cm, seller told me they don’t heat much and that I should buy this size at least for this size terrarium, I still have 20 cm for making a cold area with more humidity, I would like to hear second opinion about this 😊

So when i bought my scorpion from petsmart and took him home, i fed him a cricket and he actually ate it...problem is most of those crickets died long time ago and my scorpion has been refusing/walking over/ not caring that food is in front of him and i admit I've offered some Dubia roaches, the much bigger ones that i get from a small size batch because i just don't think it's an appropriate size for my bearded dragon (five month's old i scorpion is in a 10 gallon but he hides in the coconut cave he came with (i bought the same one since his little carrier had one but store folks took it out), i don't know whats going on with him as i mist his tank daily, sometimes he will come out during the day but sits there.

Hey i have heterometrus petersii for around two years now and tomorrow he started molting, he did great but now he's sitting whole day in the middle of his enclouser and has his dead skin on his back. It's not attached to him anymore but he still carries it on his back. I don't want to interrupt him but I'm not sure if he doesn't need my help. Should i try help him getting it off his back? Or is he going to manage it get off by himself?
Please someone help me. Thank you.

How should I get the scorpion out of the tank in order to clean the tank? I’ve heard foam tipped forceps but I haven’t found any long enough to keep my hand away from the claws or stinger

I just bought my few days ago - really cool creature - he already ate one Dubia roach and he looks pretty fat now:DD

Do you ever need to take everything out and completely replace the substrate and clean the cage? And what are the dimensions of the one you're using in the video, in centimeters?
