A NASA's Mars Curiosity rover team member gives an update on developments and status of the planetary exploration mission. The Mars Science Laboratory spacecraft delivered Curiosity to its target area on Mars at 1:31:45 a.m. EDT on Aug. 6, which includes the 13.8 minutes needed for confirmation of the touchdown to be radioed to Earth at the speed of light. The rover will conduct a nearly two-year prime mission to investigate whether the Gale Crater region of Mars ever offered conditions favorable for microbial life.

Only wish sometimes Nasa could play stuff like this live when it comes in, but of course they have to review it and all the lovely stuff that gives us the information needed to learn about mars but still wish i could view live footage from Curiosity

No, too GOOD that you're 13. Now is the time that you can prepare for a career out there! Talk to your teachers, open up a twitter account and find some scientists and astronauts to talk to (ask your parents first - have your folks talk to me as I am a parent as well). I am a really old guy who can't help but marvel at the unlimited power and opportunity your generation has available to you. I mean it assassain54, this is a great time be alive!
