I'm tired of the myth that pitbulls are super dangerous being spread constantly by the media. For starters, a lot of the prejudice against pitbulls stems from racism against Italian and Irish immigrants in the 1920s, as they would use them as nanny dogs since they are very good with kids. The pitbull also covers for 4 breeds of dog, the American pitbull terrier, the American Staffordshire terrier, the Staffordshire bull terrier, and the American bully respectively. This means that dog attack stats that use the term "pitbull" are accounting for 4 different dog breeds, as opposed to 1. Pitbull mixes also show up as "pitbulls" in the dog attack records meaning the stats are even more skewed against them. Pitbulls were also bred to be extremely loyal to humans making them a great companion, and have a high pain tolerance meaning it's less likely for them to lash out at kids who are annoying them. Not to mention, this made up idea that pitbulls are dangerous leads to people raising them to be mean or cruel because it will make them intimidating, so it's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Stop spreading this sort of false-information.

looked up this list to see if a dog on my street was on this list and yep - #2 the Dogo. Hates my dog - if it ever got off its leash or away from its owner - it would definitely try and kill my dog - beautiful dog though - but very aggressive
