This ending was so important.
The entire episode was about another guy taking up an important role in TK's life that - although he wants to - Carlos cannot fulfill. First their talk at the dinner table was perfect. TK explaining to Carlos why he needs Cooper and can't talk to Carlos and how he is glad he can't talk to him because that simply means, Carlos has never been in that dark place, was so realistic. And that kiss on the head before going to bed showed how TK understood how Carlos was feeling and wasn't mad at him for being jealous. And then the scene when TK actually did open up to Carlos and we could see on Carlos' face how in that moment he truly understood what TK meant the night before because he didn't know what to do or say. And that's when he accepted Cooper's role and knew that he had to show TK his support by stepping aside to let Cooper step in.
The "I know" as a response to TK was so much more impactful than an "I love you, too" would have been, because it showed his trust and understanding for TK and that even though he was jealous, he truly believes TK when he says "I love you". Carlos love was never in question here, so "I love you, too" was not the needed answer.
I just really loved that episode. it was so realistic in terms of showing how addiction recovery can be a struggle for couples and how jealousy can play a great role, too, when you cannot help your loved one the way you want to but have to let someone else do it. but it also showed what great communication this relationship is built on.

Of course he would do a background check. The last time he let a stranger in to his house, it cost his bf a lot even with him being around. No way is he going to let the love of his life be alone with another stranger, especially when he is in such a vulnerable state. 😢

The writers nailed it this episode. That dinner conversation was beautiful and now Carlos not only recognized TKs needs but went an extra mile for it. I’m in love with Carlos lmao

I love that Carlos replied with "I know" instead of "I love you too". Carlos loving TK wasn't even a question, but for atleast a while, he was scared that TK didn't love him back enough to share everything with him.

Sorry, but after this episode, nobody is allowed to call Carlos a control freak ever again.

He was confronted with his greatest insecureties and his worst fears TK slipping away from him just as it almost happened so many times before.

And what did he do? He waited for TK, he listened to him and he stepped aside for someone else to take care of TK how TK needed it and the way he wasn't able to, no matter how painful admitting this must have been for him and no matter how much overcoming it must have cost him.
Because he loves TK and he never put anything else above that.

That “I know” instead of I love you too was perfect! The “I know” was I trust my man and our relationship. But now I also know this isn’t about me. This is about loving my partner in the way he needs, not the way I think he needs. Ugh just a beautiful episode

Obviously Carlos is the MVP here for being such a sweet, understanding and caring boyfriend here but I love Tk too just as much for giving up meeting Cooper for Carlos. Ah, this scene itself is perhaps one of the most romantic scenes of Tarlos to date despite only having minimal physical interaction. I love love love Tarlos even more now 😍

I love how Carlos Han Solo'd TK at the end. Because Carlos does know, and he shows it in a few ways in this scene. He makes TK pizza even though he says he isn't hungry because he knows he will be later; he even sets the timer because he knows TK might forget and let the pizza burn; he calls his sponsor because that's who TK needs to talk to in that moment, and Carlos leaves the apartment because he knows that TK needs that space to be able to talk freely.

I think the show really needed this storyline. TK's sobriety has been so separate from Carlos narratively, and I think it was good that we were able to see Carlos's POV in this episode. It was so good because it shows that Carlos can know TK and love him, but he's also not always going to be the person who TK needs when he's struggling. And how that is actually okay.

For no particular reason, I'd just like to list some of the things that TK does for Carlos:
- He makes him lunch when he works out
- He talks him up re: his detective skills ("says the person who just solved a kidnapping case", "luckily we have someone who just became an expert at looking through footage")
- He focuses on comforting Carlos before himself after they both have been through something traumatic (after the fire and the almost-plane crash)
- He always lets Carlos know how much he appreciates him and showers him with pet names and compliments ("baby", "babe", "you're sweet", "adorable glasses", "Carlos is very handy", etc etc)
- He's always the one to start difficult conversations and draw Carlos out of his shell (starts the conversation at the police station, starts the conversation after the farmer's market, starts the conversation after the AA meeting, etc)
- He gets up in the middle of the night to sit with Carlos as he's working through the night
- He tells Carlos that he's willing to spend his life as Carlos's personal shopper if that's what it takes
- He knows Carlos well enough to understand when he just needs to be angry, not comforted (after he tasered that guy)
- He was the first to say I love you on screen and is the one who has said it most often
In short, TK does a lot of things for Carlos that shows how much he loves him, respects him, and cares about his feelings. In case anyone was wondering :)

TK gave Carlos the affirmation he needed by saying I Love You right in front of Cooper !! If there were any doubts it put Coop on notice that if there was any chance of anything between he and TK that wasn’t going to happen!! Not that there was but people have thoughts in there head and any of those were definitely quelled by his affirmation of love for Carlos!! Plus this BIG I Love You cemented his place in Carlos “ heart!! Also saying that in front of Coop made Carlos feel much better because that smile he exuded when he slid the door closed was one of TRUTH TK really loves me ..Another thing is that smile was Carlos also feeling good because he was doing what’s best for the one he Loves and isn’t that what love is all about putting someone else first before your self

Carlos holds the record for being thee best, caring, patient, loving boyfriend but for this scene alone he top his game. I’m very impressed I’m not surprised I’m happy he did this he knows T.K. loves him and but he also knows he’s baby is in pain the only thing he can do right now is to step away and let someone who has experience with addicts to help. The smile at the end he’s so proud of himself, we’re proud of you too Boo. You did good Carlitos you made us Tarlos fans days brighter🦋

This episode had so much Tarlos content and I loved it
