“…friend number four.” Leonard’s right. Top five ain’t bad. Hahahaha!

Friend number four with penny makes sense
1.leonard was the first person he met who became his friend
2.raj over Howard
3.howard and raj were introduced to him by Leonard
4. Penny was introduced to the friend group after those three

Then it's me, who has always given up after rotating the cube 3 times

I solved the cube once. I took it apart and put it back together solved.

A much easier way to make it unsolvable is to pop out and edge piece and flip it around. And if anyone is curious, its very easy for most cubers to tell when someone did that because they’d reach a certain step and it’ll be obvious it doesn’t look right

Sheldon is definitely one of the people of all time

I'm surprised it took Sheldon as long as it did to figure out it was rigged. Then again, I would've simply come to the conclusion that merely one of the squares was out of place, and not three; probably the bulk of his investigation.

The inventor of the Cube had to be taught how to solve it.

For those of you who are curious, there are 54 total stickers (6 sides, 9 per side). The colors on the cube are in the following order:
+ white (1-9)
+ red (10-18)
+ blue (19-27)
+ orange (28-36)
+ green (37-45)
+ yellow (46-54)

The "white" face is numbered based on if you were looking at it with orange up. R-B-O-G are all numbered with the white up. Yellow is numbered with green up.

While Sheldon does not specify where the switched stickers ended up, we know that 2+9 are both white stickers (top-middle and bottom-right). That means the white side had two unusual stickers: one orange changeling (32) and one yellow changeling (51) in one of two possible orders. Then, the orange face has a white sticker at position 32 (dead center, a dead giveaway because now there are two white centers) and the yellow face has a white sticker at position 51 (middle-right).

yup. you mess around with rubik's cube long enough, what sheldon said 100% makes sense. We all know to quit after we can't solve it because we know it's been tampered with, but not many of those same folks would figure out which ones....

Remember, as a kid watching Starblazers playing with that and solving it by accident, lol😂

It's fun to take them apart, but put it together out of order so it's impossible to solve. I thought I was the only one who did this.

Life is like a rubics cube the more you mess with it the more screwed up it gets

I had a roommate in college who claimed to solve my cube. I looked it over for an unreasonable amount of time and eventually realized he moved the stickers to "solve" it.

Depending on how he replaced the stickers, it can be obvious. For example, for designed sake, no two colors of similar shades or reflectiveness should be next to each other: Blue/Green, Yellow/White, Red/Orange.
However, if you've rotated a piece where the stickers are properly placed, it isn't obvious until partially solved unless you're an advanced speed cube solver.

The most horrendous thing you can do to someone with a rubics cube is swap a couple or corner peices.

I was gonna say, if Leonard only switched the corners, then he'd easily know. The fact that Sheldon (or Leonard by extension) are using cubes with stickers is kinda embarrassing

Should be friends number 3. Other than the other two people in the room I can't think of anyone he enjoys being around more than Penny..
