In Germany, somehow the no-name cubes at toy stores are actually speed cubes and by far better than Rubik's brand.
Theyre probably even sufficient as a main cube for mid 20s solvers)

Probably because making the cubes completely blocky wouldn't make them any more expensive, so you might as well make them turn well and corner cut if you want them to sell.

As an Indonesian ($1= ±Rp15k), we laughed at 30k rupiahs. We could buy so many things w/ $2. A regular rubik's cube who does very well doesn't even cost a dollar 😂 (±10k or $0.64)

i had that very exact cube with the same exact color scheme. Got it for roughly a dollar. Worst turning and will break if you try to corner cut. Ended up giving it to one of my 4 year old nephew. Raising the next gen cubers here, fellas 🙌

I bought a random Rubik’s cube from home & bargains for around £8 and it works quite well :D I’m not a speed cuber nor do I plan to become one but I forgot about it for 5 years, found it about 2 weeks ago and now I can solve it in 1 minute 30 seconds, spins very pleasantly
