This video shows you how to install a new interior door handle in your 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra. Interior door handles can take a lot of abuse over the years being pulled on to open and shut doors, or banged up if you load things in and out of your vehicle frequently. In which case, you may have trouble getting in and out of the vehicle!

This repair was done on a 2005 Toyota Tundra Base 4.0L and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

3 Phillips screws; ...take note that the two for the door's edge trim are the two that are matching in length, the third is for the door handle trim and it is a tad longer as you'll notice when compared.

Now it was a week or more before I got back after I had done the removal of the door card, etc., and as often we do, I thought 'easy peasy' I won't mess this up and get lost on which screw goes where. Of course I'm old and feable and, ...I'll leave it at that.

PICTURES and NOTES, written on paper to remind you of simpleton idiot proof items and their placement. TOP TIP!!!

This is a great, well produced tutorial with just a smidge of missing things spoken, like that of which herein I mentioned.

p.s. edit: Be careful to not put a bend in the cable at the connector end that locks the the two said cables into the latch. This feller in the video got the 'L' shaped connector locks removed with ease, mine were a bit of a fight. I had mangled the cable just a wee bit and that caused a fouling of the latch which then meant I needed to go back and try again after staightening the cable ends best I could. So far I have now a door latch that works and will be careful how much force I use to pull the latch upon egress. My outside door latch was coming loose so while I was there I was able to tighten the screw on the latch that was loose, which happened to be the one you can access through the convenient port hole, just try to not drop the socket down into the bottom recess or bowel of the door.
Lastly you'll notice threads on the white cable secure mount... I just did my best to lock that piece as far or close to the collar as I could, though it appears the threaded collar is adjustable(?) I really am unsure on this, anyone else have a idea as to if that makes sense?

To get the panel back on, roll the window down and start near the mirror. There is a little lip there that will help you get it set
