Never use duck or duct tape on your ducts. What they are using in the video is called "foil tape" and it is designed for ducting. If you're serious about sealing ducts, buy a product called mastic sealant. This is a product that you paint onto the ducts that will form a strong water-tight barrier for all the small cracks and holes. Use the foil tape on round ducts or larger holes and then paint the mastic over it to make sure you have a good, air-tight seal.

I have a colmen furnace I cleaned the pillet and office with rubbing alcohol it looked dirty before I cleaned it it wouldnt stay light and running is this a good thing or bad thing last fall the heating guy put in a lighter nighter what elce should I do

When I open the front cover for vacuuming inside the firnace, there was something like filter attached to that front cover. That filter kind of thing was very dirty and broke. What do we call that one? It is round fiber something. Where to find it. Can we turn on furnace without that? Just closing the front cover?
