Arctic Sea Ice Minimum 2024

The 2024 Arctic sea ice minimum extent appears to have been reached on 11 September 2024. Measuring 4.28 million square kilometers (1.65 million square miles), is seventh lowest in the satellite record (1979 – present).

It is a real shame that the same efforts are not made to catelogue and display the shrinkage of the Equitorial Atlantic cloud mass. Given that this ultimatly governs how much ocean heat is transported poleward it would be intresting to portray the relationship to increased insolation at the equator to reduced ice at the
