you need to go online and buy Bisto, there isn't a kitchen in Scotland that doesn't use Bisto in mince and totties (That's what we call them on the east coast of Scotland).

Mom used to make a pie similar to this . She put vegetables and ground beef and made a tomato style gravy or sauce  Sometimes she would take the left over hamburger gravy and add the vegetables to it, just depended on what needed used up.. Then placed in a casserole dish and spread the potatoes on top put some dabs of butter on top and baked it. yum

My family has been making this for years. I actually use very lean beef, potatoes, and onion and pressure cook it in my stovetop pressure cooker with a cup of water. It can be jazzed up, but salt and pepper is all I use. I will try the carrots too next time.

Bisto gravy granules do not contain MSG, artificial colours or preservatives, making it a healthy option suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs.

I don't want to be overly critical because you done a good job considering you weren't taught how to cook this by your mum like we are in Scotland, but the only major thing I'd do different is how you cut the carrots. I don't know why it is but the shape of a carrot totally changes it's flavor in Scotland we chop them into circles, and it doesn't matter if they aren't cooked completely through they are okay if they have a slight bite to them, but it shouldn't matter cause we cook our mince and tatties for at least 45 minutes so the carrots will be soft.

If you were to add macaroni to that and then set a jar a Srirachi sauce on the table you could make Chili Mac . I dehydrated a bunch of tomato last year.   I took the initially dehydrated rounds and ran them thru the spice grinder then put the chopped back in the dehydrator for a few more hours.  It turned into sticky chunks that were smaller than they used to be but it never did turn into powder.  It still worked good when I used it but "I didnt get there from here "  using the regular highway anyway :)

Brought on this and you NEVER add chicken seasoning. Plus it’s boiled not fried. It’s 2 beef cubes and the bistro added to some cold water to thicken at the end of cooking. Scottish mince comes in a gravy and is never dry like this video. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Haha, I was the one who asked you to make this, and I felt terrible cause of all the comments on it. You did fine! I am actually making this tonight, as my daughter is ill, and it has been pouring down all day, freezing cold here in Scotland! Bev, your amazing! You have so much energy. Love your videos!

You can do so many things with Hamburger meat and chicken for that matter. When growing up I think we came up with more ways to use those 2 things because they were so cheap. Of course now to buy a chicken in the store its about $7, 00 and a pound of ground beef is $5.00

Have you noticed the price of ground beef lately? SHEESH! Boy I wish I had a meat grinder. I can pick up top sirloin roasts for $3.99/lb but ground beef is like $7/lb. Then food basics this week in order to appease the public, put family packs of lean ground beef and pork blend for $2.88/lb but I refuse to purchase that. Then I decided to look at already premade frozen boxed burger, even though I don't like those and they are over $15 for a box of 8 burgers. WHAT! So I am hanging over here for a burger on the BBQ really bad. Last night we split a big T bone steak that was $7 instead. I would rather pay the price on a T bone.
