I just started watching the 97 anime. Never read the manga or heard of Berserk until I started seeing shorts pop up on my feed after countless hours of Elden Ring shorts and descriptions of the Greatsword.

Holy shit, love it.
I put it on when I’m working out so I can have inspiration to pick up the Dragonslayer and swing it like him one day. Contemplating even building one of my very own just for S’s and G’s.

I’ve seen both and I liked both of them. The 2016 Berserk really isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. The animations look kinda cheap, but it is still fun to watch, which I think is mostly due to the interesting material on which it was based. I really wish they had continued with the anime.

2016 music is really good too. There is a consensus that this is widely agreed soon.

While there are strange and laughable animation problems there are also well done scenes and everything is at least cohesive and portrays scenes and action well enough to follow and understand. They followed all the rules of photography with some short mistakes with orientation preservation but forgivable. The people they chose and the problems that had with animation software they could not get to work really do seem plausible. Legitimate issues and can see they were trying. Just needed more checkpoints to get it working, and a larger budget and more time.

Why we not bringing in the three mini movies Golden Age? Those are good times too. Fun to watch in the background while working on hobbies.

Berserk, made in abyss and kingdom are my 3 top dark fantasy series. Tbh kindom is based on history which is true, they also dont show the dark scenes but you can ofc Google them to understand more about what really happened.

I always find it funny that the same studio that worked on Berzerk 97’ was also animating Pokemon Indigo League at the same time lmaooo (For example young Griffith seen in the flashback before he incarnates as Femto during The Eclipse is voice by Ash Ketchum’s VA lmfao).

Ok let me tell you my story with Berserk.. I just watched the 1997 anime.. in early 2000.. it was so good but the ending was so strange but kindda like it.. I have accept the ending.. but always felt something is missing.. after some years.. I discovered the managa..it appears the anime was only small part.. I was shocked... suprised.. and happy at the same time because I knew in such well developed character like Guts it shouldn't die in that ending.. I remember that day it was early morning and sunny day. I kept reading the managa to the end then I realized it dark.. it appears its evening.. I kept reading over 10 hours stright.. it was greate experince.. to be honest.. I even liked the other anime 2016/17 I mean it was fun. But didn't like the 3 movies.. I wish it continiued

I've only seen the '97 version. Most anime is kids stuff, but don't get me wrong they are really great stories too. I would describe OG berserk as the 'saving private Ryan/hacksaw ridge' of anime. It's gritty, edgy, and sometimes too real. The first time you see it, it will burn your soul.

Cap golden age goes into more detail, has insanely clean fight scenes and animation in general. 97 is fire tho
