I found that well set up Cordoba or Rodriguez guitars often nail it at this price range. I played a £175 spruce Manuel Rodriguez for years, from ABRSM grade 3 up to ABRSM grade 7. It helped me attain 5 distinctions. It's comfortable, well set up, and it actually opened up surprisingly well over the years to the point I can make a more beautiful sound on it than I can on many instruments 5 times it's price . Point is, actually get your hands on and play the guitars you're thinking about buying. There were many in that price range I tried that were practically irredeemable instruments, but I found a gem. They are out there, just don't rush the process of finding one.

Sitting here practicing on my cheap 1970's japanese guitar (that my teacher said was just fine for my skill level) and feeling a bit seen. Thank you for this video. I'm going to go back to practicing now.

I got a second hand almansa 413F (650/700€ new) for 300€ i spent 50€ to change cords and fix the setup by a luthier. 350€ spent in total. My entire knowledge was based on your videos. Thx guys

#5 is really important IMO. I have an acoustic that looks really plain, has a very light matte finish, but sounds absolutely amazing.

These are all great tips for all instruments. I am working my way up, though I’m not a classical player. I only rediscovered nylon string guitars in January (after 40 years of playing steel string acoustics, including vintage archtops, and electrics). I started off getting a $200 Yamaha C40, pretty much the classical equivalent of my first guitar (a Yamaha Eterna). Humble specification and price notwithstanding, I fell in love with it. I quickly added another Yamaha, a CG172SF—the very same model that fooled Brandon on the blindfold test. Maybe I got a particularly good one, but that guitar is special. I can hear it vibrate in response to voices, as the high end models do in the video with Samurai Guitarist.

Let me add that the guitar in this video is amazing.

I made all the mistakes you can make when choosing a guitar 😬 But it looks better next to the dresser than a plant 🤣 Thanks for this video. Now I know what to look for 😁 I'm sure the second hand store will take it back but not for the same price. But will I keep it anyway as a decoration object. I have a trial cello lesson soon, but maybe a violin is better for me 🎻

I got my guild guitar used from a practicing musician, met him at his gig at a touristy restaurant. It had some flaws on the face, ruining the looks, but it had been to a luthier and played like a dream. I was greatly saddened when I killed it by not keeping it humidified. And I don't have a guitar that plays THAT well yet. 8^(

there are many entry level guitars which cost under 300$ and are perfectly fine for a beginner and not onl;y a beginner. There are many guitars decently made, all you need is a solid top to get some decent sound and some decent strings.Luthiers in general get to see custom made guitars all day long and are not the best judges for entry level stuff.

Especially with classical guitars it would be a very bad idea to buy them from internet, because apart from the saddle nothing is adjustable...

Any tips for kids start learning Classical guitar? Since we won't be spending too much on a guitar to start in case he doesn't want to continue. But will a cheap guitar actually make it hard to learn?

What do you think of the cordoba c12?

I’m starting up playing again after I did a lot in my youth I’m 16 year disabled combat veteran was hearing and balance issues now and is 100% disabled

I miss playing so much. I have a 62 Strat then I look at most days now, but the plane is too harsh for my ears so the nylon string is easier on my ears. I’m gonna get a piece of pick up to put underneath the strings ADAKDA I forgot the name of it and maybe a a small fish man acoustic amp I’ll start off with their practice at like $300 so I’m hoping between the three will be adequate. I already have the C2 and with the cedar top and I like it I need more volume hence the pick up and the Fishman acoustic camp.

Just wondering what your opinion is on the Cordova C2 I think it’s CD the front board it’s a little narrower than your standard classical guitar. I tend to like the warmer sounds and like I said they’re easier on my ears which just wondering what you thought of the build the guitar itself thank you for your time . I appreciate you guys and I love watching your videos. Hopefully I’ll be able to afford one of your custom builds, sir the VA purchased this guitar for me as part of my therapy so I was fortunate, but having played master built guitars in the past both both acoustic and electric I do know the difference between a true quality instrument and one that is much much less expensive while at the same time acknowledging that many good players play Mexican made strats

Honestly, I don’t even know if my ears even with my hearing aids, said in the music program would be able to appreciate many of the overtones of a truly finally made classical guitar

Anyway, your opinion on the Cordova C12 in Cedar would be appreciated

And where you think I should go next ✌️

I just bought a Cordoba 7/8 Dolce model brand new for 400.00 dollars. It has reduced string tension. It has a soild cedar top, laminated mahogany back and sides. The nut is 1.96" width. It has an adjustable truss rod, and Allen key, fan bracing, a dovetaneck joint, bone nut and saddle, wood rosette, rosewood back strip, and binding, mahogany neck, rosewood bridge and fingerboard, maple and ebony top purfling. I dont need the best. This guitar sounds good, and i disagree about looks. You dont wantban ugly guitar.
