I've commented on several of these reaction-videos to this video. The C-130 Hercules aircraft is, most often, the first aircraft that these fallen soldiers are transported on as they start their long journey home...tactical airlift. These flights are given the highest priority. ...I'm intimately familiar.

Ironically, the 'flare salvo' from a C-130 resembles an angles wings. Godspeed to all of our deployed forces.

a Finnish reservist here, I have watched many videos of the fallen from the Global War on Terror coming home, I have also watched versions of this song countless times & have become somewhat desensitized to it, until now that is, as I listened to the song this time around I started crying. Here in Finland, starting from December 1939 during the Winter war, we adopted the official policy of bringing every fallen man and woman back to their home of record for a funeral with full military honors regardless of the cost, even today with the relations between Finland and Russia being what they are the Finnish government is still funding efforts to go to the battlefields of WWII to look for & identify the remains of the fallen so that they can be brought home.

Thank you so very much for reacting to this beautiful song. Yes, wherever the Angel Flight touches down with a fallen soldier on board, it's considered sacred ground. I'm not sure if you noticed, but those aircraft that are dedicated to Angel Flights are equipped with special flares that, when deployed, leave a design of angel wings. Many times, there may only be the pilot and the fallen soldier on the flight. I do believe they may carry more than 1, but sometimes it's just 1, and I'm sure it does feel like church in that plane on that flight. In response to your question, where that plane touches down, it's considered sacred because of the precious cargo that's being carried. In most cases the family is there and when the casket is off loaded, the family will go to the casket right there by the plane, the guards that will be carrying the casket to the hearse, will back off and give the family some time with their loved one. I've watched videos of this and as heartbreaking as it is, it's a beautiful moment that the family can be a part of❤
