Komotini is located in Thrace, northeastern Greece, 58,5 km from Alexandroupoli. It is built in a valley and the foothills of Mount Rodopi, about 30 km from the sea, famous for special blends of Greek coffee and delicious traditional sweets. A multicultural city with Greeks and Greek Minorities, mostly Muslims. There are many remarkable sights and monuments like the Heroon, the Byzantine Castle, museums, Ottoman monuments such as the Imaret and mosques.
