Charlotte quitting her job was bonkers! She loved her job.

Carrie feeling entitled to have Charlotte help her was INSANE

Steve: Moves himself into her apartment. Blasts cartoons. Demands she change her sleep schedule for him. Invites himself to move into her home.

Also Steve: You can't buy me a suit, that crosses the line.

This is more a work thing than entirely a money thing, but you can’t mention Charlotte quitting her job without talking about Carrie moving to Paris with Petrovsky. That was idiotic on so many levels, way beyond the fact that they too had nothing in common. What was her plan? No French intensive class? No book-length writing project? Even if they had been wildly in love and truly compatible, he was in Paris to work on his gallery opening. What did she picture herself doing every day after the first week or so? How does a grown ass woman have no better sense of purpose than that? Oh that drove me crazy. Still does obviously…

It’s so different rewatching SATC as a fabulous 40 something divorcee living on my own in Chicago in this economy compared to watching it as a single 20 something in Iowa that desperately aspired to be Carrie. Now Samantha is who I aspire to be😹

I LOVED Smith. Most mature person that was fully ready for a committed grown up no BS relationship. Him waiting for Samantha by the elevator and making sure she was okay was so selfless.

People say Sex and the City is unrealistic money wise, but Carrie having no savings and just lifestyle inflating, not thinking of the future, and spending on wants in her life is the most relatable millennial thing she ever did.

Also! Carrie frequently wore several different rings across the series. It wasn't a sensory ick thing for her: she didn't wanna fucking get married to Aiden

♥️ Loved this. Carrie dressing up to the nines, to go to Big’s office to ask him for advice! Regarding her apartment (and informing Big of her lack of funds) has always reminded me of broke Scarlett O’hara visiting Rhett in prison in Gone With The Wind.

I'm still not over the fact that Carrie could afford $40, 000 worth of shoes while writing one column a week

The other big lie from this show that always got to me was the fact that four friends would always have time to have brunch with each other and go out with each other. I miss that life

“Framed as somehow bafflingly a good person” is exactly how I feel about Carrie — she’s a deadbeat mooch

Objectively Charolette selling her ring was a terrible choice, but it does fit thematically with each of the girls have a part in Carrie's engagement to Aiden (in reality, to her friends.) Miranda picked out the ring she hated, Samantha picked out the ring she never wore, and Charlotte sold her own ring to give Carrie a home. In their own way they all sort of proposed to her.

With regards to Steve and the suit....why was it either the mustardnsuit, or the designer custom made suit?
There IS a happy medium. It's called Macy's where regular men buy regular, affordable, suits every single day. I doubt the whole thing would have even beem an issue if they just went to a regular store.

Carrie expecting the down-payment money from her friends was so ludicrous!

This is epic and delightful and I could not be more pleased that we are still talking about this show 24 years later.
