Cleaning bearings can save you money in the long run. Living in uk with lots of rain the amount of times my bearings have been seized and then came back because they were cleaned is ridiculous. Clean your bearings! Good vid otherwise

Fun fact: Cleaning your bearings will extend there lifespan a lot way more and will significantly increase performance, lifespan, and speed. Ive had the same longboard for about 4-5 years now and haven’t replaced my bearings once. What I do is buy some car break cleaner and penetrant oil, plastic cups/glass. Then remove the bearings and submerge them into the break cleaner for a few minutes until I see the sediments and rust completely gone. Install the bearings and spray a lot of the penetrant oil while spinning them. Ive had the same abec 5 and doing this every time I see a performance decrease they have lasted and will last a few more years.

I didn’t find this on Google, I am talking with personal experience.

cleaning of the bearings is essential, especially with bones swiss ceramics

I gotta disagree with a lot of stuff on this list. Especially the grip tape cleaner. Over time, if griptape gets too dirty, it loses its grip cause of all the dirt in between the grip.

I love this vid but personally I think bearing lube is a must have especially if you wanna keep ur bearings lasting longer especially if you spent 60+ on the bearings

I personally love the ramptech ramp. I’ve had a 2 ft quart pipe ramp made by them for about 2 years and it’s showing no signs of breaking or chipping in anyway. I highly recommend their ramps.

Riser or impact pads I find helped prevent pressure cracks which had happened with every board before. I definitely clean my bearings once a month. Griptape cleaner is good to have just in case but if you take care of your board then you won’t need it. It shocks me how much I see people get their board wet in the rain and just step on the board with muddy shoes. You’re losing your pop and your board will be dangerous at this point. I’d never skate a waterlogged board. Also if you really want to conserve your board sand down the edges of your board with the leftover griptape after every couple sessions to prevent razertail and chipping.

5:45 I started skating because I saw a kid next door skate in his driveway with one of these plastic kicker ramps. I got my complete board from my house and tried skating it, ate sh*t and that's how I fell in love with skateboarding.

Isn't the point of the shock pad that they dampen the smallet vibrations on longer rides, so your legs dont get numb? Never heard someone use them on a scare board, but some people whit longboards swear by them.

Dude when you said that about the bearings I almost instantly lost all trust i had in you.

I always used shock pads. I never noticed a difference in shock absorbing but I used them instead of risers because they were soft and felt more like they had a gasket seal than actual riser pads.

i used shock pads just to try them and i noticed that they don’t actually absorb the shock, but they help preventing pressure cracks

lol this video is pretty accurate minus you know, the whole bearings thing. Maybe you shouldn't have to buy the cleaning kit but cleaning your bearings actually helps...

From a mechanical perspective, try not cleaning bearings in an industrial setting and see how it goes... clean your bearings or just buy knew ones if you don't want to clean them.

I’m in the uk and cos it’s wet mud that gets in ur bearings and grip the grip cleaner is so useful and cleaning ur bearing with a bit of washing up liquid is actually rally helpful (lol as I can’t afford expensive branded bearings)

Anyone remember GK Rims that were supposed to cover dirt out ur bearing but only just trapped more dirt in em?

the shock pads might not help that much with the big impacts, but I did notice a defference when cruising on my longboard with vibration from riding on roads that werent super smooth
