Update, 9 months later and still like the tenet very much, have two now and am thinking of picking up a third. Oh liner lock has not been a problem in any way thus far.

There's nothing wrong with it. Let's keep it at that. The whole discussion about lock strength is mostly psychological. In what way would you ever use such a knife, that would make the lock fail? Only ramming it into a tree and stepping onto it might achieve that, or maybe trying to violently baton through logs. In any case you'd have to put a lot of force on the spine of the blade, which basically doesn't happen the way folding knives are normally used.

Liner locks are just as strong as frame locks. Look how thin the relief cut on the frame lock is. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link

I don't buy into the cult of super strong locks. If you are using a folding knife for anything where the lock failing because it wasn't strong enough is it concern, then you should probably be using a fixed blade.

Just received a Tenet today. Agree on the lock but for my edc use it will be fine. Love the clip and love the knife!

Steel Will’s blade detent is something that I’m impressed by every single time

The shape of the blade is great, like the D2 and G-10. Price is good.

Really disagree. Other than the longer lock being too thin. But lock back or frame lock? No thanks. This knife is nothing like the cutjack or modus

Yeah, let's get more flipper lock-backs on the market! ;)

Great video, this has been my edc for about 3 months so far. As a leftie I removed the pocket clip, but I do that with most knives.

Another great vid sir, I have one and though a thicker liner would be a bonus, it will not fail in the way I use a folder(hard use does not mean misuse), when i use a knife that puts any significant negative pressure on blade I use a fixed blade, results never cut or even scared myself with a blade closing on my hand, problem solved.

Great review. I'm a lefty and the tenet is my edc, and I just took the pocket clip off. Too many manufactures either don't have a lefty option or place the left hand holes in such an awkward location it's just easier to carry in the pocket. However if it were offered as a framelock, I would definitely want one of those as well. I'm not sure how a flipper would work with a lockback, as that was my main reason for buying it. Liner locks tend to drift hard because as a lefty I'm applying pressure in the same direction as the lock.

I bought the Tenet and I already have the Cutjack and Modus . I like the clip point and g10, but the liner lock is on the thin side . It doesn't flip as good as the other 2 and it doesn't have anything special to set itself apart, after a few days I returned it . It's a good knife, a good slicer, D2, and if I had bought it first, I probably would have kept it.

Regarding the liner lock, the lock bar should be thicker BUT it all depends upon your perspective of how you use your knives. Any lock type can fail, I never use a folding knife for hard use, always a fixed blade.

I like it, I have one since mid march and the only complain I have is with the liner thickness, too thin for my taste. It is a simple and effective design, love how it feels in the hand and the action is impressive! smooth and fast, almost like a blade on bearings. The stopbar is integrated into the blade and you can't see it without disassembling the knife. I think it looks much better than the modus and its g10 scales are far more superior than the modus ones which are made of frn.

As far as I can see this knife is the little brother of the Apostate and I like carrying knives in matched pairs. I got it and it works great as an EDC and definitely strong enough liner lock. Most of the time a knife is pushed away from you so the likelihood of it failing are minuscule. I have had it for a few months and it is an awesome knife for the price.

You should check out the LAPG TBFK. $35 for s35vn steel that was tested by different Youtubers to have similar wear capabilities to proven s35vn.

Thanks for the review, been curious about this knife. I like that it has g10; hate the frn on the cutjack.

I can see where you are coming from with the liner lock, and I love a good strong back lock. But for me, a thin liner lock that will last for years to come, sounds appealing. Plus, remember, it is a folding knife... when you want something robust, carrying a fixed blade is the best option. ;) The Radford Guardian 4.5 is my EDC choice!

I have two Kershaw Skylines with the thin liner locks and have had them fail under heavy use. These are great for EDC but when I am going outside expecting heavy use, I reach for my Kershaw Drone, with a heavy duty liner lock, or my Zero Tolerance ZT200ST, with its tank-like build. Thin liner locks and heavy duty work are not compatible.
