🧴 Sunscreen is super essential ✅
But can’t be messy/sticky/white cast/occlusive. This then is discouraging and one will not use it regularly 😤

So,
Along with sunscreen that you can apply - as much as you can and the best one suited for your skin ,you can also 👇

1️⃣ Add coloured make up on top - liquid / compact.
2️⃣ Internal sunscreen - supplements like RA bright and RA Defence.
3️⃣ Food rich in antioxidants - like greens , berries, haldi etc.
4️⃣ Physical cover - hat / cap / boyfriend shirt. 😁

And that's why we need dermatologist, and not some so called influences!

I am so happy that someone(in your case, a well qualified dermatologist) has finally said it.
All the self claimed beauticians and vloggers were bragging about the 2 finger sunscreen rule which made no sense all along.

Filipino here but I find it the same. Two finger method always felt like too much in this super hot and humid climate. I put sunscreen according to what I find adequate for me. Even those lightest sunscreen will have a bit of whitecast with the two finger method. I would prefer layering my sunscreen than putting it all at once if I find the need for that much.

Sunscreen also doesn’t work sometimes and can get melasma. Acne is another problem when layering on 😢

Two finger rule works great for me and might work for everyone if they use one finger for face and the other finger for neck, chest and ears

My solution for sunscreen giving me acne is to avoid the sun as much as possible

Its a quarter teaspoon of sunscreen for the face which includes the neck...this finger method is a rough approximate, rest depends on the consistency of the cream. Plus suncreen is not a substitute for melanin. Brown skin is more prone for hyperpigmentation hence we need sunscreen than white people. Also in the video she didn't cover her eye area which is just as important.

No but i use 3 finger for face itself
It all depends on the formula
If u cant use a particular formula then u can use a lighter formula for face
The dotand key, aqualogica, foxtale ones are really light weight and can be easily used even in summers

That rule is not for the face only, the two finger length of sunscreen comprises the neck and ears as well

Thanks for saying this out loud! I never followed this because my skin absolutely rejects over application! I always listen to my body and that works best for its wellbeing

As an Indian with brown skin, my skin turns all red & burns/itches if I'm out too long in the sun. My dermatologist advised to never go out without applying a pretty good layer of sunscreen & reapply whenever possible! So it's different for every person!

I am afraid that is not true. Brown skin is rated between 5 and 6 on Fitzpatrick scale which actually means we are prone to skin inflammation which actually results in more melanin production which results in pigmentation. it is imperative to use adequate sunscreen and repeatedly so during the day if exposed to the sun.
Where sun screen is concerned more is better

Those who are complaining that the 2 finger rule doesn't work are doing it wrong, even in the video.
2 finger rule is supposed to include your neck and ears as well. 1 finger is for your face and the other is supposed to be for your neck and ears. People ALWAYS forget their neck and ears and the two finger rule was made for this reason exactly.

But Indian sun is way harsher than western cold country's sun n capable of causing more skin damage. In Indian skin, this damage is often manifested as hyperpigmentation

Finally someone is telling this. I can't even wear 1 layer of sunscreen...for the sake of using I use a little bit. Thats all I can do and I have a dark skin
