PSA: If your sunscreen is so expensive you can't afford to use the correct amount, then that sunscreen isn't for you. There's a reason I refuse to spend more than $15 on a sunscreen: I can't afford it. Using less basically means I'm wasting my money because it isn't doing what I'm paying for it to do.

You might wanna consider how much you squeeze the bottle when you use sunscreen. Personally I tend to squeeze hard regardless of the product form (gel, lotion, milk, cream, etc) and even when I use a runny one like that Cass shows, I end up with a much thicker line than her. Also, the 2~3 finger rule is supposed to be for your face, neck, and ears, so it isn't all for the face. People tend to forget that.

It’s a good guide but it really boils down to the shape of your face, how long or short your fingers are and yes the texture of the sunscreen. As long you covered all areas. All is good! I have short stubby fingers 😩 haha

I haven't worried about whether I'm applying enough sunscreen because I have very dry skin, and I'm in the habit of glopping on products. But I think I'll start using the 2 finger rule.

I feel like they should make more spray sunscreens but without any toxic ingredients like alcohol, fragrance, or essiential oils I FEEL LIKE SO MUCH MORE PEOPLE WOULD USE SUNSCREEN IF IT WERE EASY TO REAPPLY

Can you talk about the 2-finger rule as it relates to the 11 zones of the body when we apply sunscreen? ❤

I used to wonder how anyone could possibly use two whole fingers of sunscreen... Then I saw it demonstrated with one of those little pump top bottles. Nope, mine comes out of the tube in a line as wide as toothpaste. One finger of that covers my face, neck, ears, chest, and forearms. I just use enough that I can cover my face, neck, and any exposed chest without feeling like I have to work to stretch it far enough. Then I use what's left on my hands to get my ears. Different bottles and different formulas require very different "fingers, " so it seems like a silly rule. Just be generous!

I use the 3 finger rule because 2 finger is for my face and 1 finger is for my neck. Don't forget your neck

I need a real good eye safe sunscreen. I work on a boat and I sweat a lot in the summer months when it’s 95 and the humidity is crazy.. the sweat tends to roll down to my eyes and this my sunscreen with it.. it then either burns or makes my eyes feel as if I’m looking through gooey clouds… I’ve tried Sunbum for the Face, CereVe and Cetaphil. I have no problem spending money to buy something that works.. I just haven’t made the plunge to spend more if it’s going to do the same thing. Also, I’m not good with sunscreen. My face is the only place a I wear it.

That means each bottle is enough for a week or so

You should tell the difference between SPF vs PA (then the plus) because I would definitely buy SPF 30 PA++++ than to buy SPF 50 PA++

I always do three fingers and that’s just for face. Then I do it again for neck ears and top of my head (buzzed)

I’m a guy though and I am probably bigger than her. And I always go back and do a bit more over high points of face nose, cheeks forehead. Like a second coat. Am in overdoing it Cass?!
