Men wanting multiple women sounds like a lot of work on their part, it’s very stressful. I don’t think they’re thinking about all the aspects of a polygamous relationship, they’re just focused on the sex part.

My uncle had 3 wives and while he enjoyed sleeping with them (AND side chicks at one time) jealousy, resentment, competition and dysfunction was brewing between the households. The women couldn't stand each other....the kids noticed which "wife" he favored and resented his kids with her (but mostly played nice in front of them). When my uncle was on his death bed, many of his kids (14 in total) openly expressed the desire for him to die so that they could get his money. When he died, the older kids pounced on the youngest wife's family. Thankfully he left a will dividing his assets amongst the kids. Despite this, they continue to try to take the youngest wife and her kids to court over what they got. Men should know that there is a heavy price to pay if they choose to be polygamous. Is sex with multiple women worth all that family dysfunction and destruction?

The bit about women wanting to compete for a man is the complete opposite for me. Girl, if you want that man you can have him. I’m not about to sit up here and compete and play games. Either somebody wants to be with you or they don’t, don’t waste your time competing! Go where you are wanted!

Am African and from my own experiences many men think polygamy is easy. The number one reason women accept being in a polygamous marriage is wealth and resources.

My grandfather had two wives and he admitted he made a mistake. The women and children would constantly have disputes and bicker at each other and in some cases get into physical fights because of resources and gossip. None, not even a single one of my six uncle's has more than one wife. They learned first hand how difficult it is.

I always find this conversation hilarious especially if you know the history of polygamy. Monogamy was actually something men pushed for because back in the day the men that had multiple wives were extremely wealthy, and what ended up happening is that a lot of “average” men were left without wives and could not procreate. Women in those times would rather be the 8th wife of a very wealthy man vs the only wife of a farmer or merchant.

Im Japan woman would rather be a concubine of a wealthy man then an average man’s wife. People really need to do their research.

Men really don’t want to go back to them times because most of these dudes that are talking this mess wouldn’t even have a wife if we brought back polygamy lol.

What men fail to understand is that any woman who has any bit of self-respect will not agree to such an arrangement. This arrangement somewhat works in West Africa because the women don’t really have options. In a country where women make the same money as a guy, you must be crazy.

I am a woman and I will never fight over a man. I was actually in a situation where I was attracted to a boy (he definitely was not a man with the games he played), and I unintentionally made this obvious. Another girl liked him also and after I decided that I am sick of his games and ignored him, he tried to use the girl to make me jealous by giving her attention that he refused to give me. But as I said, once I decided I was done, I was done. I proceeded to block him on everything else, and I let the girl that he tried to use to get to me have my breadcrumbs which was him.

Hello, my name is Mia. I come from Indonesia & I was raised in A Muslim family. A lot of people use “Islam” to justify/excuse polygamy. Let me just tell you everyone reading this that the Prophet Muhammad's “other” wives were widows with children who lost their Fathers, or extremely poor/homeless women. It wasn't about sex or sleeping with as many virgins as possible. It was always about taking care of women financially. Unfortunately lots of modern day men misuse this. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

In Islam polygamy isn’t for the poor man. Each wife must get her own home, you must treat them fairly, and be there for all your children. Also pay a dowry for your wife, in order to even have a second wife you need permission from the first wife. 💯 this is why it’s a lot of work to be polygamous. It’s nothing like how cheap y’all think, letting all the women live under 1 roof like y’all think.

Now days, it seems that we are pushing more to carnal desires than Godly wisdom and love. This shows me that no one knows what true love is and instead are seeking to serve lust for their fleshy desires that is temporary. A man and woman who truly knows Godly love 1 Corinthians 13 7-8 will know that loves endures than sex and looks. It will be pleasing and self-sacrificing not selfish.

These are the same guys on the internet talking about having trouble finding ONE woman, want to spend as little as possible on the first date because her companionship is not guaranteed, get mad at women for not wanting to date low income men, etc. The polygamy conversation is WAY above their tax bracket. Even if it were in their tax bracket, as much as some of these guys complain about one woman, do they honestly think they can handle multiple wives? Or do they plan on being a virtual husband and father like Akon? They really think that woman competing against each other under the same roof will produce peace instead of chaos, which will eventually trickle down to the children? And THESE are the men that claim to be leaders and alphas? 😂

As an African let me just tell you that polygamy isn't simple and glamorous like these men make it to be.
It's super expensive because traditionally every wife is entitled to her own house in her own land, you can't put your wives in one house it's not allowed. Also if you buy one wife a car you have to buy every wife a car.
If one wife's kids go to private school then you have to do that for all the kids, and that's expensive.

Did I mention the favouritism and the inequality? The men never love the women equally. The young wife is always the favourite aling with her kids. These types of families never have unity because they are always fighting. Kids always inherit their mom's beef.

I feel like men who agree with polygamous relationships are men who don’t want to be faithful or has never learned how to be committed to one woman.
