I really don't have much and Im just a cleaner. I get a bit of money from the gov for a liver transplant I had a while ago. But when I see anyone looking like they are having a hard time or homeless, I will give anything I have. I gave my last $5 to a man outside the laundromat and settled with 2min noodles for the next few days. He appriciated that $5 so much he had tears in his eyes 😢. We need to help each other out, even if you can only give a little.. It may mean so much to someone..

The problem with house prices is too much foreign ownership and investment. And that is a political issue by design.

The gov is all about pumping house prices. Remove negative gearing, stop foreign ownership. Start looking after your own residents. Bring aus housing prices back to 3-4x income which is deemed normal. This will greatly improve so many people's lives.

Sydneysider here, I've been homeless in the past at 9 and 13. Inflation, cost of living, and employers ripping us off is the cause of this.

Australia has had it pretty good in terms of homelessness for a while but unfortunately that’s taking a pretty strong turn for the worst now. If anyone in Brisbane is looking to help get drug addicted men off the street there’s an organisation called ‘Fishers of Men’ that is looking for more volunteers 🙏 God Bless

I find that interesting with WA. I'm from WA and homelessness is through the roof, particularly due to the rental crisis and cost of living.

Lived in Surry Hills for 10 yrs saw all this daily...especially at night you see the true extent. Me and my family fed the homeless in Woolloomooloo under the bridge in a courtyard shared with the police station. Affordable housing shortage is one problem but having the landlords keep rents low for residents is another problem. No straight up answer to fixing the problem...you have some homeless who have jobs, just cant afford rent and bond.

damn, i was that person hanging around waysidechapel, now in 2023 im California sober have a crib, pay power, internet and water bills and its purely because i gave up the drugs and helped myself
i focuesed on getting home liek i did a packet of drugs, wit the services around the city, ya dont need department of housing and ya surely gotta work for it, ya might have to stay in places that aint 420 friendly or worst then MMRC lol .
ya cant be sittign around the park drinking / using all day expecting to be handed to you on a sliver platter

Based the stories heard, I would think resources in mental health and addiction prevention/treatment would have prevented some the this situations. The housing issue is one aspect but if some is depressed or addicted to something is present, the house does nothing to address the underlining causes.

If the odds are right if all people in this video went to rehab only one would make it out and stop doing drugs and live a life. A lot of these people are where they are through their terrible life decisions they continue to make and as an adult they know better

The thing is most of this people had housing given to them but they turned it into shit and got kicked out.dont believe that there isn't any help .if you want help you'll find it .this is a very personal experience.ive lived it
