Pay attention to charts and ground signs and paintings. That escalated quickly...

“Would have hold short of Q if that’s what you told us!”
“What did I give you?”
“… hold short of Q…” 😂

Can you imagine having an ATC controller as a parent? Child 2, eat peas, hold short of cookies.

That the controller got through that without using the word "dumbass" is a credit to his training, professionalism, and temper.

All that pilot had to do was say that he misunderstood his instructions.... Instead of trying to place blame on the controller.

I like the subtle approach of the next 3 planes atc talks to. They are all super nice to the controller- it's saying: yeah, you got that right.

The controller was sincere when he asked “What instructions did I give you?”. It has happened to me more than a few times throughout my career that I gave what I thought was the correct instruction, only to find out (after pulling the tapes) that I said something else. But man, when the pilot came back and said with a tone of indignation “Hold short of Quebec”, I almost spat my soup out. 🤣

The arrogance by the pilot is astounding. He realized he was wrong when the controller asked him what the last instruction was, and he replied ‘hold short of Q’ you could tell by the tone of his voice but even realizing he was wrong he wasn’t going to admit it. That is a dangerous type of pilot

The emphasis of the other pilots on their "good night" - the polite way of saying "sorry for that other one we're not all like that". Loved it.

Controller was more annoyed than angry; still kept his cool though and kept on with his job, despite the AA pilot's childish attitude.

I've never heard a more non-sensical response from a pilot that made a mistake. He was just contradicting himself and confusing himself and the controller. "You told us to hold short of Q so we didn't." LMAO

After decades of law enforcement radio traffic I have learned it’s smarter to hold your tongue in these matters when you think you’re correct than to be made a fool of with an audience.

“Now that you messed up the last instruction let’s try to get this one right” the absolute sass 😂

1:50 “have a great night”…”you too man”. The ATC is rubbing salt in the AA pilot’s wounds by showing he can be a good guy to the United pilot 😂

Lol. That ATC handled it like a UPT Instructor pilot.
"What did he say?"
"Hold short of Q."
"Okay, where are we now?"
"On Q."
"..."

Kudos to the ATC for suppressing his ego and not arguing on frequency. He had every reason to go full JFK on the pilot but kept it professional, making the pilot look like a fool.

American Pilot: "we would have held short of Q if you told us to, but you said hold short of Q so that's your fault"

"Doesn't look like short of Q to me"
You can tell he just wants to go home after a long night 😂

What I find funniest of all is that the pilot read back the instructions _correctly_ and _still_ didn't execute them.
That's _quite_ a feat, to hear something right, say it right, and then _still_ do it wrong!

The AA pilot was completely in the wrong and got indigent. What a clown.
