10 TIPS ON CHOOSING A PLACE TO BUILD IN THE FOREST!

In this video of The Forest, I provide you with my top 10 tips on choosing a place to build in The Forest. There are many things to consider, but these are the top things in my opinion.

Water collectors are no longer invulnerable against mutants, though they are invulnerable against cannibals.
Stick trees can sometimes be cleared when you build over though, though you have to build low on them for them to be cleared, the collision on them stops about half way up, meaning the wont clear and they’ll poke through your floor boards if your floors are too high on them, best to avoid them.

For easy gaming, build near the yacht. Lots of trees, lots of sticks, lots of anything and you can sleep in the yacht. For beginners it is the best place to be.
That is what I did in my first playthrough. If you want to have a save spot, build near the ocean. You can always jump in the water if it is getting to crowded. But watch out for sharks.

ok, first time playing the game few hours ago. and I built my house in a village, tought it might be cool, but there was so many canibals there. Afetr some yt vids I found out that I buildt my base in the main/biggest village. litterly the place with moste patrols....

The best place ive found is at -1100 550, right next to a little fresh water fish pond, just south of it. Don't get attacked too much plus it has a Huge natural defense cliff behind around, and deer everywhere. The main cannibal village is just a zip line and a little jaunt to the southwest.

5:10 I build my first base here without looking any tutorials and soon I realized that it's middle of a cannibal highway. Though later, I can't think of a better place to build because of the great amount of action, bones, sticks, birds, logs, effigies and rope. There is also a great cave ( entrance seen in the video) which supplied beer and watches.

I just started playing The Forest about 3 days ago, and my spot actually lists everything to me on the list. I'm on the beach next to the yacht. Someone else said it in the comments but I indeed slept in the yacht until my defenses were up. And if enemies appear I just jump into the water. It also only has 3 entrances and I noticed that the cannibals never enter through the left side of the beach. And the other 2 I simply blocked off and it has worked out great so far for me. Only a skinny cannibal will rarely get through but once I jump into the water they lose sight of me and walk straight out of my base, and thus straight into my traps, killing them :p

I build on the island at 3:04, just because I don't want my base getting messed up. It's great because I use a zipline to get logs to it from the cliffs across the water, and there's 2 deer and a lot of lizards in the little bay area from your latest season where you made the elevator and giant roof-ramp, and four turtles every morning. It does get boring though not actually fighting much.

Build off or near cannibal rotes but not on them, away from the things they set down as they'll just respawn when you log back in. Build near the sea within the green area for sticks and with trees nearby. Then finally a place that calls out to you. Perhaps southeast?

I don't have a PC, I just enjoy watching people play. But when I had a PC before it broke I played the alpha, tiny island but the cannibals still scary af.

We've just started the game with my friend and I gotta say we hit jackpot with our base, judging by this video(if it's still relatable). At 2:04 below the sinkhole on the right, there's a pond and a small waterfall, we've secured that place. Easy to cut the passages with walls, we have water, a lot of trees and stick bushes, deers, rabbits, it's not a in a patrol route, but close to them, so we can engage if we wanted to, there are villages and caves nearby. Plus the scenerey is amazing aswell. :)

I really like that you take into account that some people want their land and base to look good.
That's the first thing I tried and I can't seem to find a good looking enough area to build so it kind of helps to know that pros like yourself still see that people are gonna want to build on land that looks visually pleasing.
Makes me feel less like a picky asshole and more of a visionary lol

I'm still waiting for the Sons of the Forest release, and now im binge watching forest videos after i came across one video w/ the comment section stating your channel... I finished the game w/ my lil sis and boy, so much bugs but so much fun... we built on the island on our 1st play through and took it all in peace and finished the story... We NEVER expected to have so much fun on this freaking game... and we're still waiting in pain for the sequel...

And of course, loving your vids! subscribed and hope to see future videos from the sequel (after we finished the story)...
