Ambush didn't kill you since it only kills by sight by ray casting but since you were entering the closet it counted you as safe but doing this, you'll have to be very precise.

ok so when you entered the closet, ambush was just coming over, and since the animation pretty much makes you invincible, since technically, your already in the closet when you press e, ambush couldn't get you

ambush/rush cant kill you when your about to hide in closet but they can kill you when you are not hiding in closet. classic physics logics

The raycast hitbox wasn’t in bounds of the player and when the animation plays, it’s already in the hidden state

the reason why he didn't get killed by ambush was because since you already pressed [E] and went into the closet whenever you get into a "SAFE ZONE" you are safe ofc and even tho the animation didn't finsh the game tells the system
instantly to make you invincible since you already pressed [E] and went into the "SAFE ZONE"

okay, ambush didnt kill you because when you were going into the closet, the game makes the hitbox already go in the closet when you interact with the closet, entities Rush and Ambush kill by using raycasting, if the ray casting system detects a player, it kills that player, but doesnt work on animations, hiding behind something, closets and beds, and thats how YOU survived.

The animation of hiding in the closet will count you already safe

It's most likely that the AI uses raycasting and checks if the "hidden" or "safe" bool is set to true. Raycasting is for the players who refuse to use the wardrobes as a probable reason.

Ambush doesnt have hotbox it has Ray casting and if he see the player he will kill but u was out of the line so no matter how close it wont kill u
