▸ Equal parts super-genius and megalomaniac, Victor von Doom better answers to the self-proclaimed moniker of Doctor Doom, the despotic ruler of the Eastern European nation of Latveria. Victor was born in a Romani camp, the son of a witch named Cynthia, who died after making a deal with the demon Mephisto. Swearing revenge, Victor spent his life honing his skills in both science and magic. In his academic youth, Doom was the college rival of Reed Richards, future leader of the Fantastic Four as Mister Fantastic. When left scarred by a machine meant to make contact with his late mother, a disgraced Doom roamed the world until he was taken in by a tribe of Tibetan monks, who helped him forge a suit of armor topped off by an iron mask to hide his face. Rechristened Doctor Doom, Victor returned to his homeland, using his lifetime of skills to seize power as its new ruler.

Easily my favorite Marvel villain. While it may be subjective that he is pure evil I always thought it was fascinating that of all the millions of future he reigns all of it and brought world peace.

I doubt you'll see this, but after finishing this video, I had to leave a disclaimer: I'm not the biggest comic book reader, but I've developed a strong attachment to Dr. Doom as I've grown up. I'm a simple man, I see Doom, I click. Doom Quotes, Doom Best Moments, and very few of them are "good" at best. This is the best Dr.Doom video I have ever seen. The philosophical references to Plato's Republic, Immanuel Comps Categorical Imperative, and Carl Schmit are nothing short of impressive. It would be a disservice not only to leave a like on this video, but also to be impressed by the depths of comparisons you have made in a 15-minute video. Thank you, Mr. Comics Explained!

The best type of villain is one that makes you question your own morals or ethics. Doctor Doom is that type of character. He didn't want anyone in his country to suffer like he did, so he took over the country. His, by any means necessary, mentality is an extrtreme version of what it means to be a monarch.
