Im crying—nobody's explaining about Pitch Black so I will.

Pitch Black (Rise of the Guardians) - He wasn't evil at first and that wasn't what he's known for. His real name is Kozmotis Pitchiner, Lord High General of the Galaxies and heralded as a hero. He was the one who led the Golden Armies to capture the Fearlings(the Nightmares) and successfully imprisoned them. Kozmotis was in charge of guarding the prisoners for years, steeling his mind from their temptation, with his daughter as his motivation to keep going. Unfortunately, the Fearlings discovered his weakness and used the voice of his daughter into thinking she's trapped with them, tricking Kozmotis to opening the prison and let the prisoners escape. He was possessed by the Fearlings and turned him to the Pitch Black we now know today.
