Did you notice these Missing Things in Tears of the Kingdom?

I knew that a lot of the weapons from Breath of the Wild were removed in Tears of the Kingdom, but I didn't realize just how many. There's some odd ones like the Drillshaft, the Edge of Duality, and the Serpentine Spear that are hard to notice, but they're gone too!

I was always bummed out that they removed the Yiga weapons from TOTK and gave them the basic shika swords instead.
It was one the most iconic details about them and they just removed it without a second thought.

I'd reckon most were for balance purposes, but I personally believe that the reason the Yiga weapons are gone was because of the Upheaval decaying weapons: Yiga clan weaponry has terrible durability by default, so the decay likely just... reduced all their cool weaponry into dust lol

We also might've hunted the Hearty Durians to extinction in Hyrule because they're gone in TOTK

Spring hammer got replaced with mushrooms, though with less comedic value. Lynel weapons got replaced with Lynel parts. Guess they thought the amount of Zora weapons was redundant. Drillshaft probably got replaced by like like stones fused to spears, I guess they felt like they didn’t need all this stuff. Shame, some of the designs were pretty cool

In my head-cannon the lynel weapons were removed because it wouldn't make sense to have corrupted/pristine versions since they were so tough/durable to begin with. Imagine the fuse combos we could make with a freaking lynel crusher

The thing that i love about the Edge Of Duality is that you can get is very early on in the shrine that you see besides the bridge, just 2 guardian scouts there tho.

I think the dragonbone weapons were removed because you can make them yourself with a moulduga jaw, and similar reasoning went into the spring hammer and mushrooms.

I did notice a lot of them missing. Most of them were removed because of the fuse ability. For example, Lynel horns are the same shape as the Lynel Sword, so you can recreate the Lynel Sword with that.

1. They took out most straight upgrade weapon (ie. Boko bat, spiked boko bat, dragon bone boko bat.) in favor of finding stronger fuse material as the game progressed.
2. Some weopon models probable didn't work well with the fuse system, like axes, hammers and sickles.
3. They couldn't figure out enough base weapon modifiers, so they just cut some of the less recognizable ones, like the edge of duality, and the serpentine spear

Arguably the most noticeable example is the Gerudo set since you don't need to disguise yourself to enter Gerudo town anymore but that was still the best armor set in the game and was free heat resistance!

Most of the upgraded weapons like Silverscale spear and the spiked/dragonbone weapons got removed because they replaced weapon progression with fuse progression.

The edge of duality being removed is a genuine travesty. One of the coolest sword designs in the series.

I can't believe they got rid of the sledgehammer. It was such a useful weapon, mainly for breaking ore deposits and fighting all of the Talus variants. I always had a sledgehammer in my inventory for this exact reason.

Fun Fact: I find them often on Death Mountain but around Hyrule you can find bones that look like part of a spine which fits the look almost exactly to the dragonbone bones on the dragonbone weapons
