Aren’t these just “international norms?” Isn’t that what the US says when they send warships along the Chinese coast?

I gotta agree with everyone else, international waters are international waters, “we can’t play the rules for thee but not for me” with China

I'm not so sure this is unprecedented. This kind of stuff went on during the Cold War on both sides. It still is.

Freedom of navigation in international water.

It's called: freedom of navigation, right?

WW3 is on the brink of happening and we have a President who spent an entire year of his term on vacation...Let that sink in.

There is nothing to be alarmed here. It is the same international practice (and for that matter, primarily those of the US) of 'freedom of navigation' that is brought closer to the homeland. Most importantly, the foreign vessels remained in international waters.

So what?! US sends its navy near China and Russia on a daily basis 😂. So it’s okay for US to do that and not okay for other countries to do the same? 😅

They’re just seeing how close they can get before contact is made.

Excellent. It was a good example of free passage as the US did it thousand of times on the South China Sea right in front of the doors of China. China has the right to do the same thing to the US.

Good, lots of information can be gathered by sailing nearby and listening via the destroyers.

We have a right to navigate the Taiwan Straight and they have a right to navigate near Alaska in international waters.

But why usa sails near China and russia all the time ? Do freedom to navigate policy only apply to USA????

That’s good. Keep an eye on them. Just remember that under international law, they have every right to be there. We do Freedom of Navigation exercises all the time and they can too.

should be no prob... the US has close to 800 military bases all over the world. That's at least three times as many overseas bases as all other nations combined.
