Steam should make a 64 bit version. Not because it needs it, but because mainstream computing will eventually abandon 32 bit. Only legacy hardware and low powered machines like the Rasp Pi 4 will be the only 32 bit systems.
Just create both variants, make everyone happy, Steam is mostly only a browser and library launcher anyways, and most browsers already have 32 and 64 bit variants.
Plus, mainstream gaming is eventually going to become fully 64 bit anyways.

5:30 I have a 2012 tdi jetta. it gets a little over 1000kms on a 55L tank. and it produces 365 pounds of torque (its tuned (by a company that shares LMG's parking lot...)) despite the emissions issue, these cars are still lean burning machines that last forever, some TDIs odometers roll over. The less emissions stuff you got on them, the more fuel they save as well. It is kind of a trade off i guess, do you want cleaner exhaust, and burn more fuel hurting the environment simply because more fuel needs to be processed, or do you want to burn less fuel and have a bit dirtier exhaust.
