but the one thing everyone should have a fear of missing is TAMAGO'S LIVESTREAMS 8PM GMT/BST (depending on the time of year) EVERY WEEKDAY STARTING IN 30 MINUTES.

It feels like every day I discover a huge online drama that took place a week ago, and right before I try and delve into what happened I think, "Nah, not worth the time or finger strength" and go back to my life.

lesson in meme culture is a prime example of it. i litearly found out about 60% of this year's memes only from him

FOMO also applies to video games, both single-player and multiplayer, to pressure people to buy on release instead of waiting for a sale or a future improved + cheaper version

This is honestly one of the most relatable videos I've ever seen about the human condition in terms of the internet. Fomo is seriously ridiculous and is honestly so dumb to take part in and the prejudice (even if its little though it adds up) that people face for it is uncalled for. Love your videos man, the deeper content gaming etc. Just the execution of it is smth I'm deeply entertained by. Its pretty safe to say this one along with your nostalgia video will be a timeless hidden gem, at least for me

this is partially a reason i decreased my time on twitter and tiktok. its just too stressful to try keep in the loop with things i do not care about. even media i like, i dont enjoy most fandom communities around them because there is an expectation to be updated all the time. i'm very glad i've become more selective with my time.

Tamago: *talks about FOMO and how its bad and impossible*
Also Tamago: “Members-only vids? Click, JOIN! Easy peasy!”

Honestly, I find that there's no point in trying to keep up, because by the time you've seen the show/movie/8 part series about why someone sucks, everyone's already moved on to the next thing

That "pushin p" thing is like the third time I've heard someone tell me they don't understand a slang word in 2 days. Yesterday my assistant manager told me someone called him poggers in FFXIV and he was super confused on if they just tried to call him a slur or not. I also told him that my friends that are a bit younger than me had to explain what "stop cappin" or "that's cap" meant to me.

Always been a fan, but especially love these recent videos. Hit a similar but different vibe I don't get from anyone else, keep it up tamago! I'll start adopting FOBI to stay safer haha

Wow… this is one of the most thought provoking videos I’ve watched in a while! You’re entirely right about so many things I’ve never thought about - or maybe even choose not to think about

I felt like this constantly when I was in the Mega Man fandom full-time, there is so much lore and so many little niches with all the sub-series that it doesn’t feel like we were all in the same fanbase

I haven't seen any of the latest movies or shows, I stopped using most social media (youtube addiction is still kicking though), I stopped following the news. Completely got rid of any FOMO by cutting myself away from exposure to most things that could induce it in the first place and now even if I do come across them, I simply don't care anymore. I finally have time to dedicate to many different hobbies, things I've always wanted to be good at but "didn't have time" to learn, life is good.

Tamago, I am blown away by the quality of your recent videos. Genuinely impressed with you man. Keep it up

I find that as someone making YouTube videos about online "drama" or news alot of the time, it is basically impossible to keep up with all the latest trends and bits of information. I don't use twitter or TikTok because if I did, I probably wouldn't do much else in my free time.

you’re genuinely one of the funniest creators i know on youtube it’s a crime you’re so underrated

as somebody who agrees with everything you are saying entirely its so relieving hearing a decently big youtuber talk about it for others to hear

This is honestly just super informative, relatable and easy to understand.

I don't really fall for FOMO much online, but I do have to resign myself to never understanding 33% of what anybody is talking about due to the references/memes/etc that you addressed.

I'm still happier to be confused than bound by these things, though.

I don't want to consume content because of FOMO. I want to consume content I'm individually invested in - not content that I feel as if I should be invested in because everyone else is.

i have no clue how i managed to not fall into traps like these, i've never felt the need to stay up to date with anything and just kinda vibed in my own world instead. the only explanation i can possibly give is that my main social media is Tumblr and memes circulate on there for ages, taking years on end to get old. meaning if you don't get it now, don't worry, it'll come back around another time for you to pick up on it.
