This scene ties the whole Tornado Pa Kent scene was the first to see him as superman. He knew his mission from there on was to help his son who he loved get there the best way he knew . Even at the cost of his own life

When he smiled like that, Thats when Henry Cavill became Clark Kent/Superman for me. They shouldve kept that tone in the sequel instead of going dark. Its not the Actor, its the material that is given. Make a better script/story and he'll give you the Superman we want and need.
