Never thought i’d see Paldean Tauros becoming a core pokemon for a special event raid

For anyone looking for alternatives if they are unable to get Fire Tauros, Annihilape works easily as well. I used the one from my play through (so its stats weren't optimized), gave it screech and Rage fist with defiant ability. Beat it easily on the first try solo.

3 of his moves have an increased crit ratio, and combined with focus energy means that Aqua Cutter, Night Slash, and Drill Run always crit because crit ratios are weird. A +3 crit ratio means guaranteed crits.

water breed also works as well because it resists more of the attacks. It just takes more turns to win.

The Shell Armor + Loaded Dice Cloyster strat worked great for me. Set up aqua ring, max out defense with iron defense, shell smash to max your attack, then rock blast until death. You'll have to set up 2-3 times but it gets you there.

I actually went with something a bit jankier, I looked for pokemon with battle or shell armour and saw drednaw, and saw that it was a rock type pokemon who took neutral damage from 3 of samurott's attacking types, had both swords dance and iron defense, and knew some hard hitting rock type moves. Its a bit slow but i've yet to lose a run using that lovable turtle, plus giving it shell bell made it tank everything thrown at it.

With one buddy who can at least heal cheer occasionally, I used Azumarill with Belly Drum and Roll Out and Metronome in hand. Worked super cleanly. Belly Drum after first stat null and then just watch Roll Out accumulate, while buddy heals occasionally to prevent Azumarill from fainting. There may be a way to do this solo too (with shell bell instead of metronome)

@Austin John Plays - "Possible" UPGRADE

4th move - Bulldoze TM028

TURN1: BULLDOZE - Lowers Samurott's Speed

IF you survive, this allows you to tailwhip turn 2 (then you die) :p

then proceed as plan

If your allies are lowering his Defence / set up sun for you

Bulldoze turn 2, which will allow you to get tera faster.

If this helps anyone, i also added will-o-wisp to burn to cut attack in half, so even with a crit it didn't do much damage

Good luck fellow trainers

Thanks for spotlighting this guide. Also, not too long ago for that shiny Mew guide. Making a complicated, tedious process a bit more straightforward was a really nice thing, and I wouldn't have even bothered getting my Mew without your guide. So, thanks for finally helping me get something I've wanted for...many years. Too many years.

Great content, as always.

Definitely good for Tauros that it gets to shine in this. Although I'm sticking with Annihilape. That just works equally as well. Couple screeches and you are just straight up attacking until the fight is over. Just need two moves.

Aqua cutter is guaranteed to crit when you have focus energy active. Any high crit ratio move is guaranteed with focus energy and all moves are guaranteed with focus energy while you're holding a scope lens.

Hey since I don't have scarlet I used the adamant water tauros with anger point and adamant nature. I maxed attack 255, hp 255, defence 4. It's moves were rock slide, rest, sleep talk, and liquidation. It is also a decent build imo.

As someone who used a paldaen tauros in my main play-through, he was the first who came to mind against this crit machine 😁 glad to see this strategy being used!

Annihilape also works well with defiant max attack with rage fist and screech.

As for the Water one for Violet, I did pretty much the same, but it was Liquidation, Rest, Sleep Talk, then Rock Slide.
Had Rest just in case I need to heal up and then it was quite a success despite it was a skin of my teeth.
Had I Hyper Trained (or whatever it was) a bit more, it may had been a bit easier.
But bruh! Finally the Fire and Water variant Paldean Tauros kick IN!!

I feel it is kind of fair that Scarlet players get an easier to do raid after the last one, Decidueye, whose strategies mainly involved using Violet exclusive Miraidon and Iron Hands.

I did it with Water Tauros with Flying Tera Blast & Raging Bull and it worked great too, so same strat just a bit different.
Only thing I had is one of my NPC one time had an ability to negate all abilities thus Anger Point didn’t work.
