Sims 3 details that I never noticed!

Wait until you see sims 2, they have craaazy details: couches that actually move when you jump on them, wall-mounted tv's that fall when they break, hair-physics, cars that actually drive from the parking-spot to the street, etc.

One of the smallest details I miss from the Sims 3 is what they change into after showering. The next interaction in the queue is going to bed? They'll immediately change into their sleepwear after showering. Going to take a swim? Swimwear it is. It's such a small detail but it makes the thing so much more realistic to me it's insane. Like in the evening after I took a shower I don't get into my streetwear anymore to then change into my pjs. I'm just in my pjs and that's it for the day 😂

How tf did we get to the point where a 2004 game and a 2009 game are still more impressive than Sims 4

Sims 3 is my game of choice, with the right mods, you can make the game run very well. I get lost into open world for hours. I never leave the house in TS4 because it just loads from one lot to another. I love seeing my sim drive from place to place.

My favourite thing in sims 3 is being able to change the colours of EVERYTHING!

A thing I rarely see people saying (and it may be a me problem Idk) is that the sims 4 look too happy, and I'm not even talking about the sims themselves, I mean the world, everything seems so plastic and shiny and joyful, and personally I don't like that, I loved how stormy days looked in the sims 2 & 3 because you actually felt the weight of it in the air, how even sunny normal days felt like actual sunny days and not so artificial, Idk how to explain it, there was something real about the vibe of the older sims games, the world building and atmosphere feels way more immersive than the plastic look of the Sims 4, at least to me. I miss the grittiness of the Sims 3 and how raunchy the sims 2 were, everything in the sims 4 feels made for kids now, which is funny because most fans of the saga are adults nowadays

The sounds they make when they walk change depending on the floor material. On carpet it’s more muted, on stone floors it’s louder etc.

I remember when I first started playing the Sims 4, I thought my computer was messing up because I didn't have my Sims head in the middle of their menu when you click someone or a object to interact with 😂 I was baffled that they got rid of the beheaded floating sim head, i mean I KNOW that was around in the Sims 2 and 3 but I vaguely remember it being a thing in the original Sims.

A little detail I remember from Sims 3 is that when they were in the shower their hairstyle would actually change to kinda look like wet hair. Noticed it when my sim was in the shower as i started filling up their queue with interactions. I remember feeling confused at first and trying to change their hairstyle as soon as they got out of the shower just to realize that it wasn't a bug nor did I mess up their hair by accident, but an actual part of the game.

if there is no fridge like on a community lot the food will still just appear at the grill but it's still a nice detail when they're grilling at home

The sims in general has an astounding amount of detail. Like, have you listened to the music, or watched the tv or computer, have you examined the BACK of the appliances! It’s phenomenal really.

Just wait until you find out that they actually took the prep dishes _out of the cabinets_ in the The Sims 2, haha. Like, not a joke, not a meme. I loved that little detail.
