Lots of wrestling concepts apply to the boxing clinch.

The head position GGG shows Sullivan Barrera shows up on wrestling mats around the world. Roberto Duran used it to neutralize Sugar Ray in close.

There are a few reasons this inside head position is so strong:

-Forward pressure and body position keeps the opponent locked on the back foot and unable to transfer weight forward into a meaningful punch or bump.

-From under the opponent, you have good leverage to move your opponent around the ring.

-Forcing the opponent's head one way or another creates a blindspot for potential offense.

-With the hips back, there is room to work the body, as Duran does here.

-By leaning forward with the upper body but keeping the hips back, you are deceptively far from your opponent, and can lean back to make space to punch any time you choose. Locked on the back foot, your opponent doesn't have that option.

-When you get low, you increase the chance your opponent butts themselves.

Why would someone dislike this, and then not comment why they did?
