as an M2HB MG formation user, can confirm running out of ammo or just mainly the fact that she is reloading is hell, it's a matter of winning the map with an S or defeating a boss without loosing the echelons

The MG42 was for a while; one of the most reliable and accurate machine guns of the war and was so terrifying the allies made dedicated propaganda to try to make soldiers less scared of it. A barrel change could be done in 7 seconds or as little as 5 with practice and the gun can hit a target the size of a dinner plate accurately from 350 meters away and cut a man in half.

The 50. Caliber Machine Gun Ma Deuce just needs to hit a man once to kill or maim them fatally.
The 50. Can hit a target up to 2000 meters away; and was mounted to anything and everything the Americans had for armored fire support; it is officially a coaxial anti aircraft gun and technically illegal to shoot at infantry but no one cares because the 50 kills everything it hits.
The 50 can shoot through walls and thin armor and tipped rounds can shoot through a light tank like it was a soda can.

The MG42 may be accurate and scary; but the Germans almost never wanted to fight a 50. You don't argue with a 50; it hits way harder and argues at a steady rate

the M2 is still obv in service and the 42 has been modernized as the MG3 which is also in service. The fact that it's been decades and we still use these MGs are a test of time, and ik the 1911 exists but i don't see much use of it other than the modernized M45 model within SOF groups

The MG42 is used for suppressing the enemy. The M2 is used for turning cover into concealment, and concealment I to nothing.
