Holiday Inn is a good hotel when you are used to staying in Best Westerns (although the Plus and Premier variants are good) and Days Inns. A Holiday Inn or a Holiday Inn Express used to be a treat before I got the Hilton credit cards.

If you’re not going for Globalist annually, then the World of Hyatt cards aren’t worth it. Both Discoverist and Explorist status are extremely underwhelming.

However, I highly disagree with your thoughts on the program. 1) Award bookings are always limited in some capacity so.. plan ahead especially with Hyatts where everyone wants award bookings. 2) Hyatts are generally in all major cities. 3) I’d also argue that if you want to pay for a vacation and don’t want to lock yourself in a single ecosystem *Cough* Hilton/Marriott, Hyatt is the way to go.

Hi Luke, thank you for the great video! I have a question about the Aspire card for you. You said you have 2 Aspire cards, can you use both $250 resort fee in a single stay? Thanks!

No joke, I was eating a banana and threw it at my screen when you said that 😂! Great overview of your hotel strategy - I think you have a great mindset extracting the most value from your stays - regardless of hotel program! Personally, I’m a Marriott loyalist, and conveniently my video tomorrow will be very complementary to yours 👍

Loved ur comment “if ur family makes great memories, how can it matter what points u use”. It reminded me of a quote from another YouTuber “find a redemption YOU can live with & go enjoy” which helped me avoid analysis paralysis. If u r always concerned about the value you can squeeze out of ur points u will never have the memories.

Unrelated to the video but you mentioned Thanksgiving and football… agree 100% I need peaceful time to focus… I’m also huge OSU fan, last 3 Thanksgivings has been bad experiences 😢

ALWAYS a good idea to have currency in a few different hotel programs. That choice card is a great card! Let 'em hate on it, never had a bad stay personally, Is it the Conrad, of course not, but solid program! Kimpton in Grand Cayman you say???? Guess I know what I'll be researching the rest of the day.

Great video Totally agree Choice hotel has some good sweet spots. Cherry pick value from all the programs based on your needs.

The 5th Night Free Benefit is a huge benefit with Hilton that I get a ton of value from as well. Booked 5 Night for my honeymoon to get that benefit, and that's awesome you were able to double-down for 10 Nights on your Hawaii trip! I got free Breakfast with Gold Status at the Waldorf Astoria Cancun and the bill would have come out to over $100 for myself and my wife's breakfast, ton of value there! Love that you are versatile with your hotel stays though and depending on what your specific travel booking is, you are willing to be flexible and choose whichever program would make the most sense (such as IHG for the 4th night free if you can only stay 4 Nights). Great video as always Luke!

I see you talking a lot about the Cincinnati Bengals this video. I am blind, but I have season tickets. Sounds strange, but true. So I’ll see you there. I mean I will hear you there!

Good strategy. And let’s face it. Sometimes you’re flying high and can do the Ritz. Sometimes a Holiday Inn hits the spot.

Have you gotten an upgrade from holding the IHG platinum status in the states yet?

Great video...haven't pulled the trigger on my first hotel card yet, so good info for me.

But my most important question...what should we Falcon's fans expect out of Jessie Bates this year?

The Hyatt FNC makes it an easy keeper card for the majority of people who hold it. Of course, you can earn many more points with your Chase cards, but none of those Chase cards give you a FNC, even if that FNC is only covering a category 1-4. Even if those rooms cost just 12k points, at 1cpp that's worth $120 which covers the annual fee and then some which makes it worth it in the same way we'd justify any hotel card with a FNC.

I think with that argument I fall on the side of "why not both?". Use your Chase cards for spend and combine those points with your FNC on the Hyatt card to get the best of both. I do appreciate your perspective on it though. It just goes to show that not everyone will get the same value from every credit card, so you gotta see if you can justify it with your personal situation or not! Great video all around as always Luke!!

Great hotel strategy! We use Hilton for a nice high end vacation each year (FNCs + pts) then FNCs from other cards for various stays throughout. We've done well with Hilton + Hyatt (Regency seems to be the sweet spot for us) but would never chase Globalist. Thanks for the info + video!
