Isn't it an idea to put just one base in front of the enemies spawnpoint with no adjacent towers. So they leave their "rolling stairs" at the start and walk their way to the flag.

The barracks defend the nearest block, they don't defend the ground, they attack people who climb up.

If I'm correct, that word that you couldn't pronounce refers to the openings that you drop the oil or other objects down onto the attackers through

That word is pronounced “Mah-chick-U-lations” and is the hole when a battlement overhangs the walls the archers can shoot down through to prevent people hugging the walls.

Pretty sure your catapults and balista werent doing much do to the requirement to target an area just like the machicolations. An update should add auto fire to them or an option to do it.

Can you put tower pieces on paths to change the route enemies take? Make like a spiral pattern maze all around the ground so they have more time getting shot at? Edit: Watching later I see some troops climb towers and there's those assault enemy wood towers used to scale your walls. So I don't know how much difference a maze would make.
