Learn Angerthas Erebor on memrise:

Q&A:
Q: Why is it that the girl dwarves speak in a high female voice, should this not have been deeper voices.
A: J.R.R. Tolkien indeed mentioned that the female dwarves were alike in voice and appearance to the male dwarves. Unfortunately lowering the voices of the female voice actors resulted in poor audio quality. Our aim for these lessons after all is that all can understand the speakers as clearly as possible, by lowering their voices that aim became impossible, hence we have opted to stay with the original. Do note thought that these are in fact dwarven girls, hence their voice (like that with boys) might still deepen with time :)

@ Alfonso González: Sorry for not reply directly to your question via your comment,  But your privacy settings keeping me from replying to linked comments, hence this separate comment.   It is indeed pronounced as a harsh "r", like in the spanish "perro". Note that some of the pronunciations may at times make it sound softer, the correct way however is a harsh "r".

Yay! Great to see this finally come out, it really helped me understand how to construct imperfect verb forms. Fingers crossed that technology keeps going your way and we get to see more lessons with greater frequency. ;-) Looking forward to the Memrise lessons as well, keep up the great work!

Good master, thank you for another fine language for us none Khazad.

I have a question, when discussing names of places and people is it allowed to use the Khuzdul form in public.
Gimli used the proper names multiple times for example: Zirakzigil is used to describe the Silvertine peak or naming Moria, Khazad-Dûm.
Yet Erebor is Sindarin and never referred to in the dwarvish language.
Is there any consensus regarding naming regulations?

Wait, I haven't commented on this yet? Shame on me!
... well, anyway, thanks a lot (again^^)! I enjoy every lesson that takes us a few steps deeper into the halls of the mighty dwarven language :-)

I’m not done watching this video (I’m a bit like halfway, possibly farther) but I got to the “shaikmashâz” and it’s literal meaning “coward rodents”

I burst out laughing since it’s true! Rats are cowardly rodents, going after dead or dying animals (from what I’ve read) and scurrying from the light whenever possible.
