Of course this method doesn't only apply to fighting styles, but to all weapons in the game so that means you can apply the same grinding strategies to max out your mastery on let's say swords :)

If you wanna get mastery the best way is just grind behind cake queen island where there four type of enemie it give like 90k-100k each so better grind there it faster to grind nonstop and make sure you use buddha

Grind the 4 groups of enemies on the island where you get conjured coco (recommended to use buddha+cyborg).

The problem with longma is that, since people know this boss give lots of mastery, they will always hunt him to the point where it's no longer reliable. So the solution is just to either farm a lot of normal npcs that gives high xp or do the other bosses.
And if you have the 2x mastery gamepass, it will be so much better to farm tye normal NPCs
