Made my own v blocks after I saw how expensive they are. Been using the same set for two years now and it’s great. Super easy to make.

And if you were to hang it that far out of your vise and drill those holes you had better put a machinist jack under the end you drill or your holes will not be at ninety degrees to the round bar. Doesn’t matter how tight you think the grip of the vise is on the vee block. You also need the other vee block in the other end of the vise to prevent the vise jaws from canting. (Assuming you have the second matching block.)

When it states V block capacity of say 1" is that the size of pipe or bar that fits into the V or the largest part that will fit under or between the clamp? Thanks for your video it helped me understand. I want to silver solder a ghost sight onto a shotgun barrel and I am not sure what size v block and clamp to buy..thanks again

can you use it for threading with a die or the work will spin ?
