The Resting Caddis Blog-Post & Recipe:

In this week’s episode of Tying Tuesdays, watch as Alex Gerbec ties the Resting Caddis!

The Resting Caddis is a pretty simple name that directly correlates to its profile on the water. Designed for slicker water when fish are being a bit more picky on presentation and profile. This is an excellent pattern to start stocking your box with. With warm weather around the corner Caddis are going to start making a greater appearance. The Arkansas here in Colorado is known for it's prolific Mother's Day Caddis hatch. Don't get caught on the water with out this realistic Caddis Pattern. Try it in Olive you won't regret it.

The Resting Caddis Ingredients List:

Hook: Umpqua XC300
Thread: 70 Tan Denier Thread
Under Body: Tan CDC
Body: Tan Superfine Dubbing
Wing: Mallard Flank
Head: Ginger Hackle

Awesome looking fly. I noticed you have the dry fly hackle turned so that the barbs face the eye of the hook instead of the bend. Is there a reason for this?

Great video, awesome pattern, thank you for posting it. P.S. would be even better if you would lose the gangbanger thug low rider meets techno yuppie hip hop music... adds nothing to the video.
